Yes, it does little to nothing to mess with the opponents ability to call plays.
It results in more positive plays (and 1st downs) for the opposing team, I swear. I do not mind the action of the chant, just the overwhelming negative results for our defense. I know it really has nothing to do with the play, but it has long been a weird coincidence. I simply refuse to participate!

Keep the chant and get rid of the whiners.
I like the chant, but it’s more suited for something like a coach’s timeout in my opinion. Continuous crowd noise (with the decibel meter) is more effective at throwing off the opposing offense.
Disagree. When I had season tickets and we had a big game, that chant could be powerful. It’s good in the mix and some people who never yell will yell for that chant.
Blue white chant started last night:

If you pay close attention, the OP is right. UK very frequently gives up a big play following the blue/white chant. Has been the case for a long time
Big play? Meaning what?
Sure they may give up 10-12 yard pass or whatever, but it’s football. That’s what happens. Do you have an example of a “big play” during or after the blue white chant?
I like Ra Ra Re kick them in the knee, Ra Ra Ras kick them in the other knee or how about the old U G L Y you ain’t got no alibi you ugly.
My complaint is why have a tradition that only activates half the crowd at a time? It does get loud but only half as loud as a full stadium chant or cheer.

Major kudos this year to whoever is running the gameday experience. Its infinitely better than before. The walkout, fourth quarter, music selection, all yourn, etc is by far the best experience in my decades of attending.

If you pay close attention, UK has always given up big plays, with our without the chant, especially on 3rd and long.
