Please, for the love of God, people stop referring to SC as USC.

They are not USC, I don't understand why I see them refferred to as USC so often here, considering there can only be one USC. That would be like calling Kansas UK. The Trojans DO NOT play in the SEC. So please you all do me a favor and please stop referring to SC as USC. I feel like they take that as a sign of respect which is weird because no one calls them USC besides maybe there fans and us and that's it. I believe we're the only fanbase (not even our fanbase refers to them as this just the ones on these boards) that refers to them as USC, that's not what it is though. It is simply SC. USC is a relevant football school known as the Trojans. SC is South Carolina. They're not both USC. And plus SC is not very relevant in any sports. But please. For me. For yourself considering they don't deserve that kind of respect they're irrelevant in everything. Don't call them USC. Nothing irks me more than SC being referred to as USC. I've never seen them refferred to as USC in my entire life til I saw these boards. NEVER. In the outside world I NEVER hear ANYONE call them USC. So can we please just get it straight and call them what they are, which is SC. Please and thank you. This is what everyone outside of Wildcat Lair refers to them as. So why not follow suit and use commons sense? I don't understand why these boards refer to them as USC yet everyone else in America refers to them as SC. So can we just follow along considering there's only one USC, the same way there is only one UK. Please and thanks.

Andre, if nothing irks you more then someone referring to SC as USC, then I have my doubts that YOU are using common sense. I guess I don't understand what is the outside world, because I thought the SUN "rose and set" on my beloved state, called KENTUCKY. I've traveled ALL over the world as an airline pilot, but KENTUCKY is the best, and regardless of whether they refer to University of South Carolina as USC or SC, the people of Kentucky are the GREATEST. Don't get your "Panties in a wad." It will cause you to have a stroke. When you get my, and grumpyolddawg's age, this will not seem like a BIG deal. LOL

I call them Carolina just for clarity's sake.

They are not CAROLINA, I don't understand why I see them refferred to as CAROLINA so often here, considering there can only be one CAROLINA. That would be like calling South Dakota DAKOTA. The TARHEELS DO NOT play in the SEC. So please you all do me a favor and please stop referring to SC as CAROLINA. Dear Sir:

Contrary to your opinion the University of South Carolina is not "SC." The US Federal Circuit Court has determined that the University of Southern California is "SC" and that the University of South Carolina is not. That court made no determination on the acronym "USC." See: http://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-federal-circuit/1497594.html

For further information, people in California do not refer to their team as "USC." Instead, they say simply "SC."

Sorry. You are wrong as a matter of law.

The University of South Carolina (USC) is certainly relevant in college baseball, which coincidently is kind of big deal at a lot of places outside of the Lair. They won back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011 and lost a chance at a three peat in the Championship in 2012.

By the way, I think the Cats beat USC this weekend 17-14.

South Carolina is garbage. We have more football history and tradition than that school. Their fans are almost as delusional as UofL and Tennessee fans. They had a couple exceptional years under Spurrier but if you look at history those couple years are the outlier, not the norm. That school is a historically mediocre program..always have been, always will be. They're not even a true SEC program. Maybe we can trade them and Vandy for a couple schools from the ACC?

They're "Carolina." They put "Carolina" on their FB jerseys. Their helmet has only a "C" w/a chicken. I went to school in the lowcountry, my wife's family is from and many attended U of SC and many gamecock fans and rivals from Clemson within the state refers to them as "Carolina." Ironically, North Carolina (UNC) fans get their dander up over references to USC being "Carolina" however they seem to include "North" in front of their "Carolina" on uniforms and and "N" interlocked with the "C" on FB helmets.

Calling Kansas UK is not similar at all since they are Kansas Univiersity. That's why they are KU.

I'll continue to call USC because that's their correct abbreviation. We all know USC isn't equal to USC. (See what I did there?)

The fact that it annoys the OP is just a bonus IMO.

The proper way down south to refer to them is South Cackalacky or just Cackalacky. I lived in Georgia for many years. I'm sure Grumpyolddawg will confirm, lol. Of course, it can refer to North Carolina as well.

You might want to do your homework there homer before you open your mouth and put your foot in it! South Carolina was before Southern Cal and referred to as USC before Southern Cal therefore, they are the original USC!

Look....I'm a UK fan as well....but do you actually believe that nonsense? And UK belongs in the SEC? When is the last time we went 12-1 in back to back seasons? You sir are a nut job!
