Please forgive my asking, but did Hansbrough ever explain why he left the team?

Or did Sixpackers figure out the real story and I just missed it?

Where is he now?

After reading some of the scouting of the current team, I'm wondering if he saw the "bench" and decided he didn't want to play behind
the incoming crew. I always thought the guy was solid and it took me by surprize whenhe left.

He left because he was tired of having to schedule practice time at the Hump...

I **** you not. That was the one and only excuse that Ben gave when he expressed his desire to transfer.

Ben said it was facilities...That was most certainly not it. Stans even said during media days that it had nothing to do with facilities.

but that was the most pussified excuse for leaving a team as I've ever heard and it was the only reason that Ben gave. To this day and probably for the rest of my life, Gary Ervin will forever go down as my most hated MSU transfer ever, but Ben Hansbrough comes in as a solid #2 after that BS excuse. I will occasionally watch Notre Dame games for the next few years in hopes of watching him fail.

Hansbrough got hell from a lot of people around here. Im pretty sure he hated state in general.

His dad had a lot to do with him leaving. His dad and mom were divorced and the dad pushed for him to transfer in part to get at the mom.

as well as the Dietric Slater rumor. I talked to Ben a couple of times, he didn't quite fit into the Southern lifestyle in my opinion. I don't think his reason to leave is a ***** reason if it has to do with practicing. Some players have to devot serious amounts of practice to be good ex: Vijay Singh. I am sure he was not able to concentrate like he wanted to when he was having to deal with 100 randoms in the rec center.

I was always led to believe that the Dietric rumor had more weight to it..In fact, I heard people 'in the know' pretty much swear to it.
