So 22M wasn't enough for us to be elite? We need even more??
Jesus, we are already the highest spenders in the nation (outside of maybe Duke). It's like we are born on third base and still can't get home.

I just dont think it was spent right and/or we were told by the elite options "thanks, but no thanks" and settled on the next tier down. And those guys maybe didnt have Kentucky in their top list, but they got the pay days that made them turn their heads. Because theres definitely some guys who are not playing up to their salary, like Garrison.

Pope needs someone on staff to evaluate players that fit his system and I hope he doesn’t recruit top players for the sake of just doing so

Garrison did not play bad. He had a few rebounds, blocked a shot or two & scored a few points
Hard to score and rebound when you never touch the ball except 20 feet away from the rim.
UK does not utilize their post players. Why not post up the big guys and even Oweh.
Denny Crum used to post up his guards all of the time & they were hard to stop

Adding Mo D is the biggest issue I see thus far. He just doesn't do anything well. His NIL $ & more should have been given to Wilson
or someone of that caliber. Recruiting is only going to be more difficult as the highest bidder is going to win out 90% of the time.

Yeah but Mo D is exactly what we lacked last year. An athletic, hustle-type player who does all the little things and doesn't need the ball to be effective. Those guys win games and are more impactful than the box score shows.
But last night he was bad.

Alabama and now UL have athletic three point makers on their roster, why can’t Pope do the same? I hate that we recruited more to the defense instead of getting players that are able to do both

Feels like we really needed a stretch 4 to replace the very underrated Carr. Mo has very good points but a lineup with him Garrison,Oweh and Lowe is a nightmare for outside shooting.

Absolutely!!! Can anyone say Brandon Garrison and Jaland Lowe???
I still think Lowe could be top tier. He had a horrible second half and still is shaking off the rust. Garrison in my opinion is just a role player for sure. I was hoping for him to breakout this year but he still looks lost at times.

I’ll say this and be ready to take any heat yall bring. I’m upset about the game yes… but what I’m about to say isn’t because of one game.

If Pope misses on these recruits. Doesn’t upgrade the talent next year then I’m off the bandwagon completely.

I’m team Pope 100% as of now. I want him to do good. If he misses on Stokes or Collins or Holt or Rippey I’m done and will be ready to move on. I’ll always support the cats but I’m not gonna watch Kentucky have tubby level talent with number one amount of resources.
Good Lord. He just signed two top 20 recruits for this years class. And it wasn’t long ago when our coach got bashed for signing the top class year after year.

Pay big for a guy like Stokes and go 7-8 deep next year vs spreading the money out for 12 ok guys.
Agreed. What many claimed to be our greatest asset (depth) might be our biggest liability. Depth is great, but in the NIL era the money is spread too thin and creates a dilemma with playing time. After all, there's only so many minutes to distribute.
You want 12 Taco Ball tacos or 3 from an authentic Mexican restaurant to pair with 6 from the Bell 🔔? 🤔

The sad thing is our defense was pathetic against Georgetown and UL. It’s either Pope can’t coach defense or he did a crappy job picking his defensive portal guys.

3rs team all ACC Jaland Lowe? You’re reaching there. How about letting the season play out? Or at least more than 1 1/2 games he has played in. Geez

How can someone spend 22 million and then put that product on the court? Something is bad wrong with this picture!
I think what is bad wrong is the crazy $22 million being thrown around. No way is that amount is being paid to this roster or any roster in the SEC.

Yes, but they are both home grown. I like pope, but he has got to get some star power. A go too type player. He lost the ky kid this class that went to Kansas.

It wouldn't of mattered about Kinney though right because he was home grown.

Think the writing is on the wall that the Stokes recruitment has taken some strange turns. I expect a Collins commitment but not Stokes.

Focus for me now is getting Collins in early signing period. He looks like a versatile stud. Nobody can predict how fast people will develop, which is why you don't rely on freshmen. Right now moreno is as or more productive than jasper, who would have thought that a few months ago. And this time last year lots of people were blabbering about the wilson kid at UNC's offense. Collins is a winner and a leader and has great talent, let's snag him.

Exactly I think Mo D is the least of our problems I think he should've let Garrison and Oweh walk. Then we settled for tier level 3-4 PG. I honestly don't think Oweh is the savior that people make him out to be.

I think Jelavic is/was supposed to be Carr's replacement. Too early to know what he's capable of, but I think he'll be much better than he is now just 2 months from now.

If he stays for three years, I think eventually he will be Carr with better rebounding ability and athleticism. But in this year, I don't think he will be enough to replace Carr

I understand that to an extent yes but he has recruited some good freshman so far. Depends on who else he signs. Not all ranked highly guys pan out, maybe he gets #10 and #15 and there turn out to be the dudes who were a little under rated and ready.

Again we have no clue, as does anyone reporting that number how accurate it is. If they know for sure? Publish the documents proving it.x

Also don’t judge me to hard if I post while we are getting our *** kicked lol.. I try to not say too much bad stuff about personal players even tho I do criticize them pretty harsh but Pope is gonna get it like any coach should. I just hope him being one of us and being a national champion here don’t make him to good to criticize or he shouldn’t get any kind of passes just because of the history tied to him and UK.

I think he’s done a great job. I want to land some studs is all. Portal or freshman or overseas. UK needs a Dude.

Carr was fine, but we need an upgrade from Carr, not merely a replacement.

Bro, we scored 88 points. We need better defensive coaching. We didn’t lose because we didn’t have a “dude”. We lost because we didn’t have a way to stop the bleeding. JMO
