Just watched his Senior year highlights.... who is the receiver on his team (#9) and can we get him too?
Well that should slam the door shut on the whole Michigan issue that was brought up. O'Brien knows what he has lined up for him here. This will be his team in the future, unless Gebbia commits and over takes him, that would be a good problem to have at least.
nope, he can still sign with *ichgan if he chooses. It just saying that he accepted the scholarship and UNL is has to honor it.

San Juan Hills quarterback and Nebraska commit Patrick O'Brien will sign financial aid papers today with the Huskers so he can enroll at Big Ten school in mid-January, Stallions coach Aaron Flowers reports.
O'Brien delivered a stellar senior season, passing for 2,895 yards and 32 TDs while completing an impressive 74 percent of his passes. A 65 to 67 percent completion percentage is often considered outstanding for a high school passer, so O'Brien was essentially off the charts.
He also rushed for 626 yards and eight TDs
Oh get off it guys, even says in his tweet hes excited to officially be a Cornhusker. Hes not flipping to Michigan or anywheres else.
I explained in another thread about the Michigan rumor being crap because some ESPN writer decided to float it out there as click bait a couple weeks ago but immediately took it back when called out about it. He will be a Husker.
Pumped to have him. I think it's understandable if NU fans take the "I'll believe it when he's on campus" approach after how a couple other marquee QB commits turned out. We have to protect our little hearts.
So the coaches are still not allowed to comment publicly about him and his recruitment... correct?
I don't know for sure about public comments, but I do know that it lets the coaches have contact with him now outside of normal recruiting rules.
I know one high rated QB that didn't make it that really hurt us, Bubba Starling. I really believe if he didn't go to the Majors he'd be considered one of the Big 10s top QB. I'd loved to see how he'd done with Riley and Langsdorf this year?
Just read in the Journal Star:
"O'Brien on Thursday signed his financial aid agreement papers with Nebraska. While such an agreement doesn't bind a player to a school, it does further connect the two parties, allowing coaches unlimited communication with a player, whether that be in-home visits or phone calls.
Husker coaches can now also publicly discuss O'Brien's commitment."
They can announce his signing, and all recruiting restrictions are out the window from here on out for Nebraska with POB.

What i read is now the Huskers have unlimited interactions with O'Brien. Langsdorf was suppose to be having dinner with him and his family tonight. Im not worried at all about him flipping to any other schools, kids been as solid as it gets since he committed and this only helps lock him completely up.
This offense would not have fit him at all. Bubba was a runner first and foremost. He depended on his athletic ability to make plays. He would have come closer in Beck's offense.
I know, but I'm just stating the obvious. I never said he was a flip case or anything. but a kid can sign a financial aid to any school that offer him a scholarship, putting that school on the hook to honor it. So lets say he signs one for Nebraska and Michigan, says he going to UNL then they fire the coach, now he can go to UMich and that scholarship has to be there for him.
This is true in theory but its a moot point as there is no benefit for any other school to have him sign a financial aid agreement at this point. Advantage Nebraska
