Thing that would help is ND to lose. Auburn already lost. Florida & Georgia are in an Off week. Really need Oregon and Utah to lose another game. Then there is an outside chance as long as they don't put 2 SEC teams in. They are a long shot to make it. Big money lost today for the conference.

If KSU were to win out they would be 10-2 and OU (if they win out) would have a top 15 opponent and a chance to win a rematch against their only loss in the B12 championship game. It would be hard to keep a 12-1 OU out with its only loss to a 10-win team. If Baylor goes 11-1 losing only to OU and then OU has a chance for another top 15 win in the B12 title game, again it would be hard to keep OU out of the playoffs at 12-1.
UGA has a bad loss to SC. UGA and UF still have to play each other this coming weekend so one will be eliminated with its second loss. If Auburn beats Bama, it hurts a top 4 finish for Bama because it is a late season loss, and Bama has not been looked at the same way this year after what happened against Clemson, and Bama and LSU still have to play. Then there is the SEC title game where the loser is probably gonna end up with 2 losses, which probably eliminates them from the playoffs as no 2-loss team has made the playoffs.
PSU and OSU still have to play. PSU and Minnesota play this weekend. Wisconsin has two losses but I believe they will beat Minnesota at the end of the year. Michigan has 2 losses, but is looking better and they still have OSU on their schedule.
In the P12, no one left is undefeated, and Utah and Oregon do not play each other in the regular season, but Utah still has Washington left to play. Oregon really only has Az State left but do travel to AZ to play them. Then they get probably Utah or USC in the P12 title game. Oregon’s path to the playoff looks pretty good.
Clemson just has to win and they are in. They have Wofford, NC State, Wake and South Carolina left before facing whatever 3-loss team wins the coastal in the ACC title game.
So the door is open for OU to still make the playoffs. Baylor could finish 13-0 and not make it because their non conference schedule was a joke of SFA, UTSA and Rice that have a combined 3 wins between them on the season. If OU wins out, they are likely in the playoffs.
SEC can send a 1 loss team and an unbeaten to CFP. Especially if it's Alabama and LSU.

Problem is the fake ranking system is artificially holding back BIG 12 schools so far this season--i.e. Baylor is undefeated yet not ranked top ten? Why exactly? Ohio State was ranked top five and played 0 P5 teams OOC so why were they ranked so high.
The playoff rankings can correct this to a degree, but we know they will not.

Ordinarily I would be in agreement with the argument that Baylor is being shafted. However Baylor’s nonconference schedule is what hurts them. If they win out, it will still be hard for them to get in over a one loss team from any other P5 conference. Their three nonconference opponents have 3 total combined wins on the season. They needed to face and beat an undefeated Oklahoma in the regular season and then face and beat a one loss Oklahoma in the B12 title game to give them a shot.
But you are right in the theory that the B12 teams in general will not get the benefit of the doubt in terms of making the playoffs most of the time.
You are right, it could happen but the major players in the sec this year all have to face other major players. I don’t think we will see any undefeated sec teams after the conference title games are played. Obviously I am just guessing, but I think the sec east effectively is eliminated already because of the UF-UGA match this weekend. The winner probably ends up in the sec title game and the loser is eliminated with its second loss.
Bama and LSU are playing this weekend. One will get a loss, but that might be a good thing for the team that does lose because they most likely won’t lose again and will finish with only one loss and won’t have to play in the sec title game.

UF should destroy FSU in the nonconference but rival games are a strange lot so you never know.

I think there will be one 1-loss team at the end of the season and no undefeated teams, or two 1-loss teams.

2017 Alabama & Georgia both had 1 loss in 2017. Alabama lost to Auburn last game of the season. Georgia lost to Auburn 2 weeks before that game. Giving both Bama and Georgia 1 loss each. Georgia then beat Auburn in SEC title game. Alabama (a 3rd place team overall in SEC) Went to the playoffs and beat Georgia in title game.
2 one loss teams will not matter when comes to SEC, especially if it's an LSU & Bama team. It's currently set up the same way as 2017 as 2 SEC teams are 1 and 2.
2017 was the perfect storm for 2 SEC teams to make it. Ohio State had 2 losses. Wisconsin had 1 loss but it's schedule was weak. Notre Dame lost it's final 2 games. All the other teams in top 10 had 2 losses.
This season 5 teams outside top 4 still unbeaten. PSU, Baylor, Minnesota, SMU, Appalachian State.
Go ahead and Strike off Baylor, Minnesota, SMU, Appalachian State. Two are G5 and the other 2 played such a weak OOC they might as well be counted as G5.
Baylor OOC - Stephen F. Austin 1-7, UTSA 3-4, Rice 0-8 (OU and Texas losing did not help)
Minnesota OOC - FCS South Dakota 6-2 (only won by 7),Fresno State 3-4 went to OT, GA. Southern 3-4 (they won by 3)
PSU - not a great OOC but played a P5 team. Plays Minnesota next and Ohio State 2 weeks later. Both games on the road. PSU needs to win both. Beating OSU means PSU is going Big 10 Title game. Minnesota beating PSU would go a long way for them.
Minnesota probably not coming out unbeaten - PSU, @IOWA, @Northwestern, Wisconsin.
