They have a good case. Private companies could fire, but government employers cant fire over content of speech.

Iirc all those covid firings also resulted in winning lawsuits. These cases are even stronger.

We’re at a low, low point in our history. Maybe so low it can’t be overcome. One of the two main parties believes that they and their favorites (illegal aliens, Tish James, James Comey, etc.) can break the law, but their opponents must obey the law and not only that, their opponents must adhere to novel and ultimately ludicrous interpretations of law and morality (abortion, gerrymandering, gender nonsense, DEI,).

There’s not really any common ground to stand on here. One side or the other has to be destroyed through the electoral process.

It would be a lot lower if there wasn't resistance to the people/things you list.

I really respect all the sane posters here on the political forum. Y’all know who you are. Okay, I have a question for the old timers. This has been bugging me for a few weeks now, after I made this connection.

Okay, first, do any of yall think Joseph McCarthy was right back in the 1950s? There’s a ton of evidence to say that he in fact was. I’m thinking he was basically setup for what he knew.

Now, the connection. So, there was a Communist Party USA and it was common knowledge. They formed in 1919 through the 1950s basically. Even Obama’s mentor, Frank Marshall Davis (many believe it was his actual father, with evidence to back it up), was an activist of the communist party USA.

I guess my question is, why was McCarthy ridiculed and lose all his political influence due to what he believed to be true? Not only that, but this Communist Party USA was well known AND many of them ended up joining the leftist Democrat Party.
