What's really sad is that, even given the recent defe site lapses, we'd have been tied right then (at 21) at worst if the offense doesn't gift wrap 14 pts for UT.
despite some positives ... boley, miller, miller, patterson ... this is an all systems failure... now special teams is fing it too
IMO we should have went for it. Yes 13 yards is a lot to get...but I'd rather give Boley a chance to do something than try a long *** field goal.

I'm not on the Sumrall hype train. I don't want another DC head coach. Statistics say that OC's have a slightly better success rate as head coaches, BARELY. So, let's call it even. Given my druthers I'd prefer a team that can regularly put up points on the scoreboard, and then go hire a DC as needed.
Whenever I say this, invariably Hal Mumme gets thrown in my face, but Mumme's problems were mainly tied to hiring his buddies, and then sticking with them when it was clear they weren't doing the job. They weren't even good at cheating.

Just a total joke Boley and both Millers weren't starting (or at least getting a good amount of snaps) at the start of the year. Instead we were marching Maclin and Gilmore (though Gilmore has done a little more than Maclin) out there who has done basically nothing at WR all year long.
I'm genuinely curious why so many want Sumrall. He's clearly the top choice amongst fans on this board, but why? He's had good records at Tulane, but he's in a fertile recruiting base (especially for that level of football), but I wouldn't say he's set the world on fire. Ole Miss blew their doors off earlier this season. I mean, it was UGLY.
But hey, I'm open-minded. Tell me what I'm missing here. I think more than anything, I'm REALLY tired of having a totally new offensive system every damn year.
I think Will Stein would be an absolute home run hire, but honestly, he's probably going to get offers from some big programs after this year, so he's probably out of our league. Doesn't mean you don't at least call him.

Shame on Mitch Barnhart if he doesn't fire Stoops tomorrow. I don't care what the buyout is...get it figured out. Id say there almost has to even be boosters who would help pay it.
One bright spot: Tennessee fans have to be more than a little pissed that their defense gave up 34 points to the worst offense BY FAR in the SEC.
@ScrewDuke1 - I don't want Stoops fired before the season ends. You run the risk that UK starts playing out their ***, goes on a run, and Mitch might just be stupid enough to hire from within. That' just ASKING for trouble.

Kentucky could bring Vince Lombardi back from the dead and hire him as coach, and I don't think anyone in the SEC would care/lose any sleep over it. THAT is how lowly regarded we are.
