Well IU is in the Big10. It’s not like that league isn’t at or very near the same level as the SEC. Granted IU’s schedule was fairly easy by Big 10 standards last season too. It was like us if our schedule avoided Bama, UGA, Texas, LSU, Oklahoma and Tennessee.

Turn to envy.
Turn to run away.
Turn to badmouthing UK because of their inferiority complex
My guess they roll their eyes and say "Thsts nice"

This probably does not belong in the political thread but I know it would become political, even if I simply addressed to Christians. It also is not a “is there a God” post. So, I place it here. Really good interesting debate.

STD had a funny line re: the Steelers/Bengals "Cialis Bowl" (both starting QB's over 40) tonight. He said something to the effect of, they should start the game at 3:00 so that they can both either: get to bed early, or make the early bird special at the Blue Boar Cafeteria afterwards. LOL

For sure, but there is a lot of tradition there, and they still have the foundation on which that was built. That's a decent leg up on us. And I know the Big 10 has improved, relative to the SEC, but there is only ONE SEC. And it is an absolute meat grinder.

Just my opinion, but it's easy to mistake increased parity amongst the top of the SEC as evidence that the gap between us (UK) and them has narrowed. I don't think that's the case. Would love to be wrong though.

UK's biggest problem, it seems to me, is just a constant propensity to "play it safe" "We got a coach that won 10 games in a season TWICE! We need to hang on to that for dear life, no matter the cost" That is such a "scared", "money in the mattress" attitude, and robs us of the ability to act quickly and decisively, like EVERYONE ELSE in our league does, when it's clear we're headed for the falls. Other programs eat the money, cut bait, and move on. We hang on to 7-6 and a bowl loss seasons like they're the Hope ****ing diamond.

I'll give credit to cole on THAT. He's exactly right when he says that UK will take safe mediocrity over swinging for the fences 24/7

Name another solid SEC program (or a mediocre/BAD one) that would wait for 4 years, during which they had SEVEN conference wins total to send their coach packing. They'd eat FIFTY million dollars if they had to.
Nebraska in their heyday had a clever way to get around the scholarship limit .. Towns all over the state sent their "favorite sons" to Nebraska by paying their way to the school, no scholarship needed

I haven’t seen it mentioned in these stories of UK football kicking us fans in the nuts, but an underrated dick kick was the 7OT loss to Arkansas.

My dad, God rest his soul, was one who had trouble staying awake. He went to football games for a good time, but was never a die hard when we had season tickets. For some reason my dad was having more trouble than usual staying awake that night, so he went to the car at halftime to lay down. Dude had a full nights sleep by the time we got back to the car.

Walking out of Commonwealth after the Mardi Gras Miracle, and we were making that never ending walk down the corner ramps in silence when the guy in front of me, looking down at his feet says, “It’s just like when the Twin Towers went down.” 😂 Talk about lack of perspective…….
RE the 7 OT loss to Arky, anyone remember this .. in the post game, the coaches talked about having a sure-fire 2 point conversion play which they used and was successful when they first used it in the game .. but they had a 3rd and goal from the 2 earlier which would have won the game but didn't think to use it at that point ... the mind boggles

I miss the Blue Boar, ate many good meals there. Also miss the Southside Inn in New Albany, really good meals there too!

Doing the right thing can never be "mitigated" because some idiots might throw a temper tantrum. That behavior is, well, what creates adults that throw temper tantrums.
That behavior is also what allowed gerrymandering to happen in the first place. Let them destroy their own neighborhoods until we can get the adults back in place.

Seeing that "prize" on the cereal box reminded me of something.

To the rest of the more "senior" folks on here: Who remembers/got one of those Apollo "Moon Buggy" toys, that came in a jar of Tang back in the early 70s? (raises hand)

Both are super bowl champions tried and true QB's. However, only one has a real chance to win and that is Rodgers.
