Great governor...but my mind is still blown that he made the dumb decision to run for President in 24.

So sick of this crap. This constant lashing out against white conservatives who are always blamed for the actions of others. Oh it’s your fault that Indians are overwhelmingly Democrat as it is- it’s your fault that someone may reject Indian culture or didn’t back Vivek’s statements for H1B.

Trump is fighting the court ruling that he fund snap. Bad move because it will cost votes.
Better move would be to say hes glad the court order is in place so he can feed families that Democrats tried to cut off by closing government.

true, but perception becomes reality. the admin was totally prepared for the first 100 days, shoot, the first 10 days were phenomenal. but issues like this, it just adds to the preconceived notions. bbi's take is correct... if he went on TV and said "i'm glad the courts are helping us for a change, unlike the Democrat party...", that would easily change the narrative and momentum.

We didn't even know if Trump was going to be on the ballots when DeSantis made that decision. I think it was a great decision. It exposed weaknesses he needs to work on.

This is a perfect example of me losing interest in college athletics. I had become apathetic under Cal but the one and done stuff made us experience what life is like now with the portal. We don't know these guys. They don't care about this place and we don't really care about them either. Hired mercenaries where you as a fan are price gauged by the university and by TV networks to watch it, then solicited to pay some 18-20 year old kid money to play for your favorite team. Dumb.
And I can't imagine what the locker room situation is like among teammates with the jealousy and entitlement and the coaches dealing with this and the politics involved in having to play a guy who your donor paid a ton of money to.
It's trash now. Honestly, maybe it's a good thing to leave this.

Talk to the Gen Z and millennial guys and see what young women are like---insufferable for the most part. Huge hoes, selfish and entitled and far left (all while being so incredibly ignorant regarding politics). They're on anti-depressants, face no accountability, and everything is someone else's fault. If you're Gen Z, there's a huge chance the girl you're talking to has done OF or has a body count that resembles a WW2 cemetary.

Interesting numbers thrown about yesterday when the administration held a press conference about soon to be reduced costs for weight loss drugs. According to RFK, this could mean that Americans could lose 125 million pounds by this time next year. That would mean we each have to lose about 1/3 of a pound. Doable, right? But kind of a low expectation, I think.
So then Dr Oz jumps in with a dramatic correction. The total yearly weight lose projection is actually 135 billion pounds. That would mean every man, woman and child in the USA would need to lose 397 pounds.
Maybe it’s just me, but I really wish someone…anyone…in the administration would provide actual data instead of just pulling numbers out of their ***.

maybe you guys don’t know it because you dont have iPhones, but if you are one of the tens of millions of people that have one there is a news feed when you basically pull up your iPhone that you basically can’t avoid. It is HEAVILY liberal, as in 100% of the news is extremely liberal. I actually had to block several of them during COVID, even going so far as to like some conservative ones - and the conservative ones I liked still don’t even show up - which is nuts! There is no way this doesn’t shape the narrative/is the way a large percentage of the country gets their news. Hell it’s how I digest 80% of mine because I don’t even like politics that much.
Anyway has anyone ever pointed this out or addressed it?

I think it's nearly impossibly to actually follow politics and not hate pretty much every single politician.

I have talked to them and most say about the same things. Women refuse to help cook or clean these days. They are just selfish children and they would rather spend all day on their phones than actually contribute something constructive to society.
No it isn’t, if a judge can just order the executive to pull money out his *** because Democrats have shutdown the govt then the same argument goes tgat the judge can force Congress to approve the CR that would fund the benefits.
Hell, why even have an executive or a Congress, we can just let District Judges decide everything.
You missed the point. The millions receiving SNAP don’t care one bit who else gets it, as long as they get theirs. While your point may or may not have merit, millions of voters will blame Trump and the Reps.
Trump might be doing great global stuff and is, but he needs to spend more time worrying about domestic issues at the moment. Thats what people are voting for, not the Jews, Ukrainians or Chinese issues. And the stupid tarriff battles are mind numbing to most Americans. At the end of the day the old saying is true…. Is your position that those people that receive SNAP benefits and those people that are in favor of people that receive SNAP benefits are people that are typically pro Trump and therefore this will cost him significant votes in the future?
Because the legislature has to appropriate/release the funding!

Some of them, sure. But there are many that are sympathetic to the less fortunate and how they are treated. We’re dealing with a weak and impressionable electorate. But we need as many of those votes as possible.
Make no mistake…I still feel the Dems are causing this with the shutdown. But so many times the Dems play chess while we play checkers and this is one of those times, imo.
This. Plus there are 48,000,000 people on snap. That means many people that go beyond the stereotypical dem degenerates. Retirees, unemployed but looking, young parents. Lots of people. Whether or not they should get it is a different issue.
This is just the last mishandling of this shutdown.
Also a follow up, the next vote is in one year - do you think this issue, which will be several months in the rearview mirror by then, will play a major role? I’d be curious if they’ve done a study (I’d be surprised if they didn’t) on something like that. For example if an issue is 3 months or older if it plays into people’s mind when voting.

Trump should speak on Thanksgiving day when everyone is listening and point out that Republicans have voted to open the government with no new stuff since day 1 and Democrats have voted no since day 1 and said they won't open it unless they get stuff. In fact, Trump should announce right now that he's going to do a State of the Union speech on Thanksgiving day so the American people can understand what's going on. I think Schumer would give in before Thanksgiving as that would be devastating.
