Wendy’s used to have great fries. But then they started using low quality potatoes and sea salt.

I voted steak fries because it’s the closest to home fries on that list.

McD’s fries are good until they cool off. Then the grease gets a weird taste.

It was more of an homage. That’s French for ‘I do what I want’.
Whoa, partially rips off a line from ready player one to answer for ripping off a Twitter poll. Theft rampage

Tots are like chicken McNuggets, imposter.

The best seasoned fries I've ever had are at Burger Boy in Louisville. I plan on going the next time I'm around just to ask what they use.

Steak fries are the worst. Just order a baked potato.

Word.

Likewise, I think shoestring fries are *easily* the best when done right but most people just associate them with that canned nonsense so they don't get any popularity.

Crinkle cut is by far my least favorite on the list. If I get fries from a restaurant and they are crinkle cut, I am immediately disappointed.
I'm the opposite.(and @Gassy_Knowls , don't judge, what people like in their asses in their own personal business)
but my affinity for the crinkle cut goes back to the days when my grandparents owned a diner out on the southside of Louisville. Fresh hot crispy krinkle cut fries smothered in ketchup from one of those old school red squirt bottles and a juicy quarter pound cheeseburger with mayo ona buttered and toasted bun, cooked up by my Grandpa who worked the short order grill, open to close, every day for over 30 years. I would down that with a cold glass of Coca Cola with the slushy ice. That restaurant's been gone now for almost 30 years, but any chance I come across similar type little family diners when I travel places, I try to eat there.

The closest thing to it in Fast Food chain form these days would be Culvers.

One of my new go-to's when I want a FAT meal at home: Kroger has seasoned waffle fries, throw them frozen in a cast iron skillet, top with layers of taco meat, nacho cheese, and shredded cheese, and bake them on 375 for about 20 minutes.

:eek:kay:

Yeah, Steak and Shake fries are delicious. However, there is a very fine line with them. Typically I get it to go, then drive 10 minutes back to my office. By the time I get to my office, the fries are just a soggy mess.

McDonald's fries are the best, when they're hot. Any amount of cooling and they suck quickly.

I like Culvers fries.

Conversely, Cunningham’s (Louisville) fries are so bad that I quit fries about altogether.

Place I go to in Lake Wales, Florida has the best fries I ever ate. Always, always crispy, and seasoned. We sometimes just go for the fries. In Kentucky I haven't found anything I'd miss. I like tater tots from sonic, if you held a gun to my head.

Gravy, and cheese?? Jeez! And people think I'm weird. Put ketchup on yer eggs too, no doubt.

There's nothing worse than having a good entree (burger, chicken, fish, etc.) with some bad fries. For instance, Wendy's has a quality burger but crappy fries. Moby Dick has great fish with horrible fries. White Castle chicken rings are good but of course they also have terrible fries. Seems like there are very few places that have both the entree and the fries be of excellent quality.

I haven't eaten at White Castle in a long while but the onion rings were always a better side option than the fries.
