If Croom's buyout is $3.6 million, it could be paid off in one year by raising ticket prices approximately $11.43 per game (assuming 45k tickets sold/game). This would raise season tickets by about $80.

What's the difference in '09 tickets with Croom vs '09 tickets with Coach X?

What about concessions from the difference in ticket sales?

How does ESPN money play in?

Do student tickets increase by the same number as Club Level?

What about private donations?

There are numerous variables you aren't accounting for. I doubt we have to pay a lump sum of 3.6 mil. How many years do we have to pay it off? Edit to add a technical question: Why does yuku continue to completely screw up the spacing in my posts?

but I don't really care if it's a matter of raising ticket prices, concessions, or Byrne going door to door begging for money. I will donate any amount of money that I can afford if I had a guarantee that Croom would be gone.

This has nothing to do with me personally not liking Croom(although I don't), his players, or anyone on his staff for that matter. It's the simple fact that while I may be young in age, I'll never know when the current football season may be my last and it's crystal clear that we're stuck in a gigantic rut with Sly. There is absolutely nothing that Croom ever does or says in terms of recruiting, game preparation, or actual game performance that gives me any hope or confidence in the football team. He is a failure as a head football coach and the longer we allow him to stay, the more he thinks that he really is succeeding despite the obvious results in front of his face that state the contrary.

I'm going to stop now because I can't even write a few sentences without making my blood boil...

And I say that because you have "X" number of student tickets factored in and I don't think you desire the students to pay an extra fee with all the other prices that are going up in education. With LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, and another SEC team coming to MSU next season, you could bump the prices on those tickets and the opposing fans will absorb those fees compared to what they pay for their home games.

I do worry about how much a family of 4 can handle in coming to a game. Things have gone up. Winning makes it easy to justify.

The buyout of Jackie Sherrill was hard on everyone; so you cannot force this on the "money guys" that have burdened the shoulders over the years. So, don't ask MSU to burden this responsibility. Sadly, we should have never upped his salary like we did after one season. There are so many head coaches these days that are not even making 1.2 million.

MSU needs to continue it bold moves..... ie... G. Byrne, J. Cohen, M. Keenum and make Coach Croom make needed coaching changes (Special Teams, Offensive Coordinator, QB coach, and maybe Offensive line coach). If he refuses, then I would suggest increasing ticket prices over the next 2 seasons (not 1) to get a new head coach. I hope Croom wakes up at the end of the season and make the needed changes.

As others have stated, you've not taken into account student tickets. In addition, you've got the discount season tickets (which there really should less sold of next year anyway what with MSU hosting LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Jackson State).

In 2007, we had an average home attendance of over 49,000, and students made up some 7,000 of that average (not certain as to that number, just a guess based on the seats available at Davis Wade). In order to hit the dollar figure you're proposing, I'm thinking MSU has to have a much higher home average attendance-- closer to 52,000. I don't see that happening.
