I'm going to do the same poll on the football board to see how much different the results are.

If I'm a conference commissioner, the answer is yes b/c the brand and profile of these two schools is huge. If I'm UK and charged with voting what is best for our institution, I struggle to see how this makes sense. Football is the only important sport in these matters and this is not good for football.

It might not be good for UK winning football games, but the SEC's TV rights negotiating power increases and UK's payout would too.

I think two schools that make sense, at least in my mind, are Virginia Tech and NC State. But when looking at the size of the fan base and the increase in dollars for future TV deals, you have to let Texas and Oklahoma join if they want in.

VA Tech and NCState gives you 2 state markets in the southern footprint including the NOVA market. Also let’s Mizzou go to the west where they belong.

I’m fine w Oklahoma but Texas can pound sand. And don’t we already have the “existing state school can veto a new school from that state entering” rule. That’s why FSU and Clemson were off the table last time this came up supposedly

Until they lose regularly.

This would be true but I’m telling you, it doesn’t matter. Texas fans are insufferable. The best thing that ever happened was A&M joining and Texas staying behind. It was a huge pride hit they needed.

Texas football is the most ******** overhyped train in the entire arena of sports, but they never realize it.

I don’t want Texas anywhere near the SEC. Of I had a second team it would be A&M as some of my family was from the area and my cousins went there. I promise you we will all hate having Texas in this conference. They could literally go 3-10 on the season and you won’t stop hearing about them and the stupid hook’m horns will be on level with Rocky Top.

The only funny part about all of it is Tennessee will for sure be seen as UTjr and it will be amplified to the tenth degree.

No to Texas though. They’re terrible, arrogant, and have no reason to be.
