Thank you for the poll chicolby. I could see myself changing my vote multiple times depending on how the season goes. It's July though, so here's my July vote.
I chose Oregon, and my reasoning. This is our opportunity to get "on the map" again, but it will take success to stay on the map. It may be my particular bias, but it looks like the majority of cfb has granted a full pardon on year 1 for Mike Riley and Nebraska Football (and I don't mean that in a good or bad way). If cfb is waiting for us to be relevant again, Oregon is our first step, everybody's watching and waiting. We were favored to win this game against a nationally relevant program. We need this win.
Fresno State. We shouldn't look past them, we should beat them, and beat them big.
Ohio State in my mind only takes on more relevance if we are undefeated (or maybe one or two losses against quality teams) going into the game. If we are undefeated going into OhSU, then I'll change my vote. Otherwise, beating teams we shouldn't and losing to teams we shouldn't, isn't going to get us anywhere in my mind.
N'western, Wiscy, and Iowa are our divisional coin flip games. Yes, they are in our division. Yes, we need to beat them (or most of them) to be the division winner. But, none of them have a national glamor appeal. If we beat them or they beat us, no one is going to go "oooh aaaah". The only situational exception, if NU and Iowa are both having banner years (literally), then it will be THEE GAME.
