They'll update at about 10 a.m. We were sixth in their poll last week, and three teams in front of us lost series. We should be third or fourth in that one as well.

Damn. I don't see us as the #3 team in the country. I know we have some very impressive road wins which need to be rewarded, but there are some very big holes on this staff behind Hudson and Sexton.

Yeah. 3 is way too high. I think 6/7 is a little high as well. We're a very strange team though. On our good days, #3 is about right. But we have a lot of bad days when #20 would be too high.

I don't disagree, but who are you going to put ahead of us? A ton of teams in the Top 15 lost series this week, and as bad as we've tended to look at least once per weekend, we're still winning monster series.

The way I see it, there are about 3 great teams and that's about it. We are one of the best of the next tier of teams. Not great, but very good.

A little high for now I would think.

Certainly we have potential for it - but we really need a 3rd starter to solidify and the bullpen to start being more effective. Games 3-4 in post season are going to be iffy if we want to compete at that 1-5 level. We certainly play like a top 5 team in the first 2 games of a series - that I'm confident in.

For the first two games of a series, we are probably the #3 team in the country.

After that, we drop into the 30s or so.

If you're looking at 3 game series, it seems like we should be top 5 if not top 3. If you're trying to project how good teams are for the current post season format, I'd say we're considerably further down in the rankings, maybe somewhere in the teens.

7-3 against top 15 away from home.

9-7 overall against top 15. That's damn hard to ignore. All we have to do is not **** the bed and a regional is a lock. If we can muster everything we have on a few Sundays to sweep Mizzou and either Auburn or Arkansas, we'll be a national seed. Governor's cup is important because it's our last chance to play a team that won't hurt our RPI.

This baseball season is sort of shaping up like this basketball season. There really aren't any GREAT teams outside maybe UF. There certainly aren't any out West.

That's what I mean about us being a very strange team. 9-7 vs. the top 15 is outstanding. 7-3-1 against RPI 51-200 and a 200+ RPI loss is not.
