Of course winning , but if we want to beat a fairly above average team, we need passing along with the run
The top three teams in league stuff our running, so we need more
We aren’t a fairly above average team though.

We are where we are right now, playing winning football. Have to keep things in perspective.

This board is going to unbearable for most weeks down the stretch.

It depends. If you are a hater you pick the one that fits your narrative. If, instead, you are a fan you acknowledge that there was a weakness but the game plan clearly said run, run, run. So we did. BTW, if you watch all his throws he should have been 7 or8/12 with one throw away and only 3/4 bad throws. He was better than his stats showed. Can he be a better passer, absolutely, but they did not need him to be on Saturday.

I agree with most of this, just disappointed that we missed on the easy pass plays

And it would be nice if we can straighten that out
The issue becomes more apparent against teams over .500

We need more than 39 yards against OSU to stay in the game for example

I won’t throw a fit after a bad passing game, I have seen it many times as a long time fan and that is nothing new

We need to rise up a bit to beat Iowa and or Maryland
Fans are thinking we have a chance and we do, but we will be under dogs

I hope so.

Iowa I think is beatable with our defense, that game is going to come down to who makes more plays on that side of the ball.

Maryland we are probably going to need some bounces go our way

He's always better then his stats show to many of you blind defenders. I'm ok with him yesterday, I can admit he sucked passing and brilliant running and we got the victory . No need to make up stuff on a meager throwing day. He managed the game perfectly.

Dan Fouts didn’t win all those Super Bowls handing the ball off!
Nine step drops on first, second and third downs! And maybe on fourth down too!
..failed twice in AFC Championship game.....Fouts is widely considered among the best quarterbacks in NFL history to never reach a Super Bowl.

Or how about all the complaints about Gavin NOT running this year until yesterday.

Who cares? We were winning. Why were all those people complaining about Gavin running? Such fake fans and trolls.
I've posted yesterday. Was he told not to run, or didn't want to by sticking to the plan? They aren't fake fans! He has had many opportunities in every single game to do what he did yesterday!

A - I am not a blind defender. GW has to get better at his passing accuracy, without a doubt. B - I am not making anything up. He had three of his first five or six passes dropped. He should have started the game 5 for 5. On the second half TD drive he converted on a fourth and four over the middle for eight yards that kept the drive alive. He did to IU with his legs what countless QB’s have done to us over the years by running. When it is done to us by another QB I never heard anyone say the he was not a good QB because he didn’t do by passing. It was always why can’t we have a QB who can run like that. He did what was needed to win that game.

Seriously folks, we won and became eligible, and all i see are posts on passing yards
This reminds me of the Accounting II class I took with my girlfriend first semester of senior year. It was a Tuesday-Thursday evening class on Busch. (bad decision all the way around).

Because we were 21, we never went to the Thursdays classes; choosing to hang out at her dorm room on Douglas.

The professor was a professional dude and took attendance every class. My GF and I were doing well in the class. We got 2 As on the first two exams. On my second exam, an attachment read: “I cannot quibble with you lack of attendance because of your test grades so far, but I worry that you won’t be prepared for what is coming in November.”

I got a C on the mid term and ended up with a C+ in the class.

Same thing with the lack of an accurate passing game for the football team. I can’t quibble with the results so far, but I fear that we will be unprepared for what November brings.

One I don't care if an apposing player at any position stinks. Why do you bring that up?
Please improve you reading comprehension as I've raved about his big running day yesterday. Yes you are making things up. You keep trying to say he is a good passers as do others. This is his 3rd season. Injuries happen, getting benched happens but this was a guy that was supposed to be a great, automatic winner. Stop with dropped passes it happens to every QB. The review of his passes is stupid because it doesn't account for time, distance or situation. Making a great 9 yard throw is meaningless if it 3rd and 20 and a minute to go. Stop with the excuses. He had a dynamite game yesterday. Stop defending what he didn't do and applaud what he did great

Seems kind of a stupid simplification of the positions of those who think 39 ypg passing might need some improvement.

But the poll should be a winner for those that aren't able to grasp the subtleties of winning WITH a respectable passing game.

But hey, keep beating that straw man. Have your fun.

Yards per carry on 3rd down and short plays in the second half of home games--after October. When the temperature is below 50.

OP neglected medical and legal advice in his poll. Wedding date advice and dating advice probably did not need poll options. Electric car advice.. maybe.

Oh i absolutely grasp that, this is the point about those unable to grasp that there was a focus on the ground game yesterday, and rather than enjoying the victory, we get multiple threads on passing, or where they say we won in spite of a guy that had most of our offensive yards.

the simplification was intentional and directly counter to their simplification on the other extreme. But the answer remains the same…we play to win, and each game will be different.

Yes if people can create endless stupid threads on the day of a win, I can create a stupid poll about the importance of winning.

Glad you figured it out
no you know why, you're just being retarded here and creating more strife on the board

we are very one dimensional, playing good teams will be expose this. We've played on solid team all year (thought we looke very good for the most part fyi)
