Feel free to write in too; use whatever criteria you choose (most likely, personal preference, etc.). One vote.

Also, thanks for the memories Coach Franklin.

I will add Terry Smith.. I so want for him to succeed. A PSU guy who played for JVP… a guy who truly loves the school … He gets the gig and I will keep my season tickets… and give $$$ to HVU

I hate the school but if Kraft can get Marcus Freeman, it could be a home run. Defensive minded coach but young, energetic, great recruiter, seems to have good game day management. I see the PSU job as parallel with Notre Lame. They have more $ arguably (tv contracts), but less leeway without being in a conference. Also, he’s familiar with our recruiting area (gets many PSU targets) and in fact recruits very well nationally.

Pipe Dream ===> Dan Campbell

Kingsbury ... although his recent life reflection and choices may indicate he's not interested despite the dump truck load of cash backing up
does he bring in decent to good recruiting possibly, especially at QB

I guess Matt Campbell is as good as any cant speak intelligently on his pluses and minuses

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, co-coaches. Instead of flying with the team to away games they could use Taylor's private jet.

I like Manny Diaz, very sound basic football coach, Penn State fans liked him and would back him 100%.

Freeman is interesting , he seems to recruit PA. hard and successfully, Cignetti will clean up Indiana, Cignetti to PS is a pipe
dream.

Most talking heads point to Rhule, or Campbell, Big XII coaches haven't been doing well here lately.

+1 Thanks Coach.
Now for the next one. I went with Dillingham. I've seen what he's done at ASU and it's impressive.
Second choice would be Stein. But I really kind of want someone that has HC experience.

Terry Smith. He is of high character and a great representative of the University. Everyone likes him, including recruits. Hopefully, he is also a great leader and a great head coach. He played for PSU, his father and children went to PSU, and he has lived in State College for 11 years. Loyalty and love for the program is unquestionable. He is a relative unknown but hopefully the answer is already on the sideline.

He has been dealt a tough hand given the team's performance to date and Allar's season ending injury. However, if Gronk is able to perform and Smith is able to rally the team, there will be a lot of support for his hiring, including support from the players. Also, I believe he could salvage the recruits if he performs well. Frankly, this is our best case scenario.

Of course, if the team continues its tailspin, his job is temporary and any coach coming in will be in rebuilding mode.

What's Joe Moorehead up to these days? Only offense we had that produced (then again with Trace and Saquon and surrounding athletes should have been much better?)

My top 3 in no order are

Urban Meyer
Matt Campbell
Curt Cignetti

IMO We need to recruit and build our offense around a mobile QB that can run the RPO.
RPO had nothing to do with a running Q.
R = Q fakes or gives a handoff to the RB.
If the LB, safety or even DE play the run then….
P = pass - the Q sees a lane he can throw threw. Like a quick slant or stop route with the receiver in his line of vision because said defenders above have vacated the area and that gives the Q an……
O = option on what he feels is most likely to succeed.
A dual threat Q would ride the handoff and see the DE crash to the RB and then pull it and get the corner.

Thank you for the unnecessary education on RPO. I was only generalizing the fact that we need a QB that can run and pass by naming a common offensive scheme that utilizes such talent.

Urban Meyer if he'd take the job. The job right now is ONLY about getting PSU to the next level. That means proving Penn State can compete and win on the national stage. Not 10-2 with losses to the only two opponents with a pulse...it's competing with OSU, Oregon, Michigan, Indiana, etc and beating them at a 50% clip.

Urban took over a 6-6 Ohio St team and had them at 12-0 the following season. He won national titles at his last two coaching stops. I don't care about the NFL failure. See Nick Saban.

Meyer would cost a lot, but is the surest bet out there, IMO. He'd give us 4-5 years at the top and then could turn the program over to another Ryan Day type who studied under him.

On one of the national shows, they said he absolutely loves living in Arizona , they said no way he leaves there.
