Think this one deserves a thread since it's going to be played in 3 days. Any information on these teams? I know Courtland brings back Cheetham, Vic Green, Grant, Allen, and company. Ponax dismantled them last year, opinions on this year's game?

I think it'll either be a close one to the end, or a repeat of last year. I'll be there to find out. Massaponax seems to have Courtland's number, but Courtland should be able to get off to a quicker start than last year with the guys they have returning, and they're due for a win against the Panthers.

Courtland is good, but Massaponax has their number and will win by at least 2tds
That's about right. Ponax is just too strong physically. I'm much more concerned with injuries to my blueberries following a game against such a team. They have great talent but depth will always be an issue when you're only putting about 35 out there.

Last year's score was a bit of an anomoly and not a good indication of how good Courtland was. But they are notoriously slow starters who take too much time reading their own press but that does not excuse the fact they got spanked badly. Didn't bother me at all however. Expected a loss. They went on to have a great regular season with the only real disappointment being how badly they screwed the pooch at GW Danville.

The Cougar offense does fine but against Ponax the defense is little more than a colander. They can't stop them. Then again, few teams can. You'll see Friday. Boys against men. The line will be huge and talented. There's always one beast mode RB and a guy or two the Cougars just aren't fast enough for. Combine that with the no huddle, triple option, hurry up offense, they just wear you down. In 4A, it's probably only LT that might hang with them. Another undefeated regular season is expected for the Panthers. GL to both.

COURTLAND will be fine. still imo best team in district. need to cut down on their mistakes. to be honest looked much quicker than ponax and I believe a little better team. imo ponax other than Joey Benden have very little speed. they are a little smaller in o line than in the past d line too. didn't seem Benden had any quality receivers to throw too now that Gus Little graduated. still a good football team with one of the best coaches in the state in Eric Ludden.

No doubt bout it, Courtland played well but the refs bailed Massaponax out
They caught a bad break at the end but they blew plenty of opportunities to put this one away. Can't blame the Ref's. From everything I've been able to read, this was a hard fought game but generaly sloppy. Not Courtland football. Cougars blew it. Can only blame themselves, take the lessons learned and move on to Riverbend.
