It seems to be written from just about everyone's viewpoint according to this sentence.

It's told from the viewpoints of Kaepernick and his legal team, the NFL attorneys in charge of negotiating the deal for the league, an NFLPA at a curious remove from the center of the action and a host of sources close to the situation

I just don't see him getting a shot. A team would have to be able to tell 1/4-1/2 their fans to eff off which only the Patriots have enough goodwill to do. They aren't going to sign him because they don't want the headache.

I don’t disagree with his cause but he used the wrong vehicle to promote it. Not standing and paying proper respect to the national anthem hits too close to home for many Americans.

Why is it that the same people who will tell you that free speech is not absolute and that you don’t have an absolute right to it on certain platforms or at work,


say that the NFL is breaking the law by not giving this person a platform for his free speech?

You do know the NFL has already settled with Colin.
If the guy had no case, then why would the NFL and all their power and resources settle?

You can say or protest whatever you like but there’s always repercussions, just ask the Dixie Chicks. Colin has every right to take a stand but everybody else can tell him fk you by wanting him to disappear. Free speech doesn’t mean you get a shield of protection from backlash, it just means you won’t go to prison for your stance and Colin is not in prison.

All this hand wringing and opinions about a guy who lost his job to Blain Gabbert. He wasn't playing well, wasn't the starter anymore because he couldn't do the job.

The only way he could get any attention was to do what he did. It's not like he was playing at a high level. The only reason he gets any attention is because of his protest. Not because of his ability to play QB in the NFL.

Nobody wants him because he's not good enough plus his protesting offended a large majority of the country.

Even the "highlights" from his workout looked pitiful. Was a total sham. Noone in their right mind would sign this guy. Clunky mechanics, slow delivery, and we'll overweight.

If he sues, his gut in that black shirt should make it open and shut

Alot of the standing/kneeling nonsense can be easily fixed by doing what they do in college. Keep the damn teams in the locker rooms for the National Anthem. If any player is so inclined to come out and stand for it, more power to them.

But what if they want to come out to kneel for it? You have to either let them all on the sideline or keep them all in the locker room or the someone will gripe.

The reason they held the workout is so he can't sue the NFL... well, I guess he can sue but he won't have a case.
