Worst performance by Nebraska defense I have seen in years tackling was poor after the first drive by Ohio State it looked like Nebraska through and the chips and didn’t want to be there anymore they gave up

Pretty sure Diaco said he was getting rid of the rugby tackling and going back to the head in front style. I could be wrong though cause my memory is ****
Edit: either way it was a pitiful display to say the least

I met this summer a young man who played rugby at Central Washington University, the school primarily known for producing former NFL Qb Jon Kintna. The former rugby player works for a company that teaches schools how to tackle like they do in rugby. He watches game film during the season then submits a report to each of the schools they are working with. They were working with Nebraska, but when Diaco took over as DC he ended the contract.

Some people say it makes teams soft. Seattle is proof that this isn't true because that defense has been nasty over the last four or five years.
Not disagreeing with you, but these are NFL players who are the best of the best, so most of them should be good tacklers regardless of the style of tackle they use.

Been this way well into the Bopency days Only way to cure it ,is recruiting payers who can make plays in space It's not a thing that improves with coaching only top talent who are skilled at making plays in open field.

Division one football top tacklers are recruited not made it's not High school football Nobody in Lincoln taught Mike Minter Brian Washington or Mike Brown too tackle want prove look at Nate Gerry Freshman starter and still can't tackle in space PAmukakamara can cover but still struggles in league in the open field.

Tackling is all about attitude and how you put yourself in position to make a tackle. Rugby tackling is a safer way to finish the tackle. The outrage against it is way overblown.
