I know some of you dislike every media member but Torres has an excellent point regarding Pope's misleading stats.

Pope uses Cal's last 4 yrs compared to his 2. Why u ask? Bc it includes the historically bad Covid season. This still only slightly makes Pope's win% better. You can make manipulate numbers for a narrative but at the end of the day it's about winning.

This argument is stupid. Compare their first two seasons. If Pope makes it 10 seasons then compare their 10 seasons, etc...

If people want to compare his only two seasons to someone's worst 4 seasons, do you also compare the only two seasons to their best 4 seasons? and why the number 4....

You don't compare 4 yrs to 2. How bout apples to apples. The last two were NIL just like Pope has.

What’s sad is he had those number squeezed in and thought BBN was gonna step back and be alright since he threw those out. He should know BBN is way smarter than to believe that and also not know there were lots of facts left out like having to play on Wednesday of the SEC Tourney, Cal never had to play on a Wednesday.

1. That NIT was following a national championship. After the NIT season he reached the national championship and then the Final Four with an undefeated team.
2. That 2019-20 squad was 25-6 and won the SEC regular season. You're seriously bringing up a point guard quitting the team as a strike?

I don't want Cal back, but that's a horrible take.

it was only not a strike because the tournament got cancelled. had we lost the next two game it would have been a big one.

That's a huge "if". Plus, prior to that he reached two Elite Eights and a Sweet Sixteen in the previous three seasons.

in the moment it was a big if even though we just struggled to beat a bubble florida team. with hind sight those money lines would have been interesting

The historically bad year was the season after Covid. The actual Covid year, we had the best team in the SEC. We had an exciting, fun team to watch but, the tournament was cancelled as the SEC tournament was just getting started.

I liked that Torres video generally. But Cal didn't earn a pass on the Covid season. What games did we lose because we had guys out with Covid?

And Torres is way up-hyping our record and our ranking and our seeding in both of Cal's last two years. None of that stuff matters when it only amounts to one NCAAT win total, and that one the first one in four years.

Pope's progress campaign definitely does suck. But Cal's last four here sucked even worse.

Because it includes the COVID season. If it didn’t, Cals numbers would still be worlds better. Pope just proves what a little bit$& he is when he does that stuff. Reeks of desperation.

Do you really believe that? I hated Cal at the end. Got BLASTED for it on here by quite a few. And I hate Pope. Honestly, I hate anyone that coaches at UK that can’t live up to the standard. Except Clyde. Got a soft spot for that guy. 😂

Hey genius, every other team played during the Covid season. . You and others act like only Kentucky was affected by the situation. If you don't think Cal sucked his last four or five years and totally the fan base and honestly you're just a dumb ***. The way he misused Reed and Rob was criminal.

It actually seems like he's trying to convince himself.

I guarantee you that if Derek Anderson, Walker, Mercer, Mohammed, etc. were forced to speak the truth, they would admit that Pope was a bad hire.

Yes the previous NIT was 8 years prior. Some of you are ridiculous. No wonder we're stuck with Pope. And yes I partly blame a segment of BBN

Yep horrible. The 19-20 team was a 2-3 seed had the tourney been played. Horribly stupid take

Strange to call someone names and completely be unaware of their stance. If you paid any attention at all, you’d know I hated Cal at the end. COVID season has nothing to do with it. I choose to ignore that mess. If you don’t, cool. But nothing about that was normal at all. Watch this. COVID season didn’t matter. Cal sucked at the end and needed to go. Pope sucks and should’ve never been hired. I believe all of those things and they can all be true. It’s called independent thinking. 2026 could use more of it.
