I know as fans it's easy to focus only on our school/AD/coach.....but I've read things recently saying that the era of coaches having all the leverage in contractual negotiations with athletic directors is coming to an end. Which implies, of course, that for some time, apparently coaches have had the leverage. Which tells me this isn't just a matter of Barnhart getting out-negotiated, or of him for unfathomable reasons giving sweetheart deals to his coaches, but rather it represents the market to a degree. It's been a seller's market. And just like a seller's market when I'm trying to buy your house that you have listed for $300,000, I can offer you $280,000 and think and say that's a fair offer, but if others are offering 300 or 315, it doesn't really matter what I think or say.....
