I haven't had a good dream about Kentucky basketball in a long time.

And sadly every one of my bad dreams about us have come to pass.

1. Had a bad dream about Cal the night before the Oakland loss. Knew we were struggling a bit over the past few years and I found him in his office and just asked him as a fan "I want you to stay. Just fix it." He said "I can't" and walked out. Sure enough we lose, and a Few weeks later Cal's gone.

2. This year I had that dream I was watching us play someone and all I saw was Pope with his hands on his head and the announcer saying "What on earth is wrong with Kentucky basketball?"

Dunno. All my dreams and gut feelings have been right since the St. .Peter's debacle. I can just tell when we're gonna lose a game. I felt bad about it this morning. Dang if I wasn't sadly right again.

I think it is going to get worse.
And unless something dramatically changes, which I don't think it will, he may go 500 at home, and 2 and something on the road.
Losing season and perhaps an NIT.

Am I really the only one who thinks he gets fired for that?
Yeah, this is going to get worse, a lot worse. This was supposed to be one of our easier games and Pope blew it.
We're about to go through ANOTHER embarrassing season and Mitch needs to fix the mess he, again, created.
Pope either needs to resign, or get fired, you can't give tnis guy another year, no way.

Vandy’s coach, Iowa State’s coach, or Michigan’s coach… all three should be considered for next year. Pope has got to go .
May aint leaving Michigan. They'll outbid us. Especially if he wins a title this year. They'll write a blank check.

Nope, he needs to go now.

I guess I'm stuck thinking what's going to happen compared to what should happen.

As bad as this season is last season was pretty special considering the short recruiting window. It's hard for me to ignore that maybe this was just a clunker just like Cal 9-17 season.

Losing record against Power conference teams.

10-10 SEC record

Take away Pitino's probation year and it's the worst 50 game start to a UK coaching career

Spent $22 million for this

FIRE POPE NOW!
That’s terrible. You should make your own post staying that.

Can we afford to gamble on that though? We ZERO recruits for next year. Are we really gonna run THIS back?

The thing is…. If we get a new coach you don’t know what can happen. Say we hire somebody they could bring top players with them which is very likely regardless of who it is or top freshman that are already committed could even back out of their commitment and come here.

Either way you just gotta get a new coach and move on.

With the portal I'm not entirely concerned about the recruits but to piggy back off your point.... who's going to want to come play for Pope after this year? Maybe the money still brings them in as long as the boosters still play ball with Pope

will he get another yr if we land stokes?
He needs another year to get things straightened out with the staff, recruiting and JMI. Not because he lands someone that certain folks here will use up their lotion on. You just don't fire a coach after a second year, in which the first year started off with a completely depleted roster, and was a former great. Give him a third year, he knows this year has been bad for the most part.

You're starting to give me Arkansas fan vibes.
In fact, I'm pretty sure you are now.
Oh, he absolutely is. As are a whole slew of new accounts here. I've been putting them on ignore. They're not interested in civil, supportive discussion.

Pope seems like a totally different coach from last year, even the offense is different. There's no cutting, screening, or movement. It looks very close to Cal's offense except there's no crazy talented players to go one on one like Cal had.
This right here. I can’t decide if he’s changed his offense or if the guys just refuse to run it. But it bears ZERO resemblance to last year

The dude is banged up. He's in pain. He already told the media that there are things he can't do. You think he's making it up? You're ridiculous. If you knew anything about injuries you'd know that compensating causes issues elsewhere. His upper body is unstable and lacks strength. You're just looking to pile on. -3.3:1 lol
If you’re that hurt then your *** shouldn’t be the one begging for the inbound and then ball hogging so you can take the last shot. He had plenty of time to run a play and pass but he did what he always does which is try to be the star and FAIL.

Brother, the 9-17 team was the season during covid. Tons of restrictions on what Cal could do. That season doesnt count. Do you remember the season before when it got canceled right before March Madness? Maxey, Quickly, etc.. When Covid hit in March of 2020??

Let me be the first to say that Calipari is a Hall of Famer as are most of the Kentucky legends but he did something none of those other coaches did and that is 4 Billion in NBA Contracts. He kept his promise to his players. Since 2020 5 CATS have won an NBA Championship: Davis, Rondo, Murray, SGA and Wallce. I understand the average BBN does not watch the NBA but that is a feat that only John Wooden could brag about. I miss him and I would rather watch the R/backs than be fooled into believing this guys (Pope) could lead the Winningest CBB of all time. Y'all fell for the oki doke.
