If Pope was clearly the coach we need, wouldn't we know that by now? Wouldn't there be clear signs that he had everything moving in the right direction? Almost every fan would be on board. The fact that people are already questioning is a really bad sign.

I’ve been more interested in the forum than the games for almost 6 years. UK basketball is awful. And has been since 2020.
Yup I think all that matters to us UK's fans atp is winning. I think his recruiting would improve tremendously at UK also. Hurley at uconn doesn't play a super pretty style of basketball either.
Not one thing on his resume warranted Pope getting the job. Nothing. Whatever the question is he’s not the answer

He was possible in April 2024 but Barney went straight from Dan Hurley to Pope without talking to any of the more accomplished coaches we could have had.

I had a quote last year that Pope will never win a championship here and got blasted for it but I still feel the same today

We are just haters man. Getting beat down by every decent team we play and scoring 5 points in 20 minutes is common.
Assuming this Bama game continues to be horrendous, this will be the game where the national pundits start openly questioning if Pope has what it takes.

I don’t think we do, individually we may have some decent players but collectively they fit together like a puzzle missing half the pieces.

It would be awesome if we played the first half like we were down 20. The second half has been fine. Oweh and Lowe played great but getting down 20 every game you won’t come back against decent teams often!.
