The Raiola's are all about themselves. I hope Dylan just leaves. Not because of his performance or play-style, which I have been critical of, although plenty sufficient that I'd want him to stay. But because it's time to turn the page on putting individuals above the team, and which has been happening from the very moment Dylan was recruited. So sure, go ahead and hit the portal and free up the cash for players who actually want to be here.

I'm all for keeping Dylan for next year, but there isn't going to be a QB competition. Better chance that we lose both guys than keep them both. Both guys will be fielding offers no doubt.

I think little bro decommitting was a sign that the Raiolas are not satisfied with Dylan's development thus far. So they are going to look around. And he's going to be a hot commodity. Two seasons of starting experience with two years remaining? Former five star?

I won’t trash Dylan, he is very talented and is a good team leader from what I see. But his talents just don’t fit what is put around him at Nebraska. That’s not his fault. It might be his Uncle’s fault though. I’d like him to give it one more year here but if it’s necessary to move on to a new OL coach for Dylan to have a better chance to succeed is he alright with that ?

Regardless of where DR winds up at next year it will be an enormous year for him. First, he needs to show, (and should be able to) that he has successfully overcame a lower leg injury. That's easy to prove and won't take long. The real rehabilitation is in his overall game. He's been exposed in some areas and there are teams out there that won't give him a second look, former 5 star or not.

I agree his progression has been much less than Dominic figured. I assumed when he signed here, they figured 3 years of college ball then he would become a high draft choice and then a pro career. His experience here may well be the best thing that's ever happened to Dylan. He may realize he has to tighten up his game and let go of some of his previous thinking.

I'm sure Dylan being no more than a middle of the pack QB in the BIG is something they weren't planning on. There's a perfect team out there somewhere for Dylan's style of play, they just have to find it because its not at NU.

This team has a lot more to worry about than who’s the starting QB going to be in 2026. This team needs to learn how to block and tackle, be physical, impose their will at the LOS. Until then who cares how good the skill players are?

I'm sure he could do better in terms of a coaching staff, o-line, and NIL. Other than that, We're in good shape.
I almost think less of him for staying at Nebraska, as it seems about the ease of starting, nepotism and the paycheck, rather than competition and winning. The fact his brother jumped ship seems to be a clue that he is gone. All that his uncle would have to say behind closed doors is that, "the OC doesn't call the right plays, the head coach doesn't support the oline through gameplanning", and that would dissolve any responsibility donovan has to protecting dylan. Dylan had a season ending injury because he hasn't been coached up by the qb coach and OCs, and hasn't been protected by the oline. And he is no closer to being drafted than 2 years ago, as he hasn't developed at all, in fact I think he is less mobile. The rest of the program is in shambles, there is no reason to worry about the last talented player leaving.

Just seen this myself and honestly don't feel bad about it either way. If he stays good for him but if he leaves I'm ok also. The days of me losing sleep over guys is long gone.

I think both sides will be ok either way. Dylan will go somewhere and get a better OL protection. While Nebraska will hopefully move on with an offense that's capable of using all the elements of a guy like TJ.

There goes all that extra NIL money Rhule was bragging about. Based on how responsible our money managers are, would not be surprised if we waste another few million to keep Raiola

It is what it is. Tons of good/great qbs in the portal no concern. Gotta get OL/DL right not a lot of good/great line players in the portal. They have to be developed or you can fight for the scraps that either A: Aren't good enough at their current school, B: are a headcase, or C: are good but you have to pay 3x what you should cause everyone else wants them.

I think Nebraska would like to spend that money elsewhere if they have a chance, knowing what Lateef is. Maybe that’s what Rhule alluded to when saying no more constraints on NIL?
It’s two fold, Nebraska doesn’t have the right OLine to maximize Raiola, but their offensive line is run by his family, so it probably won’t change much while he’s here.

Also, this reads as mostly speculation in this article.

I think the optics of this nationally, recruiting or otherwise, is far worse than the actual impact.

Will it be a requirement for his future team to take Donovan and Dayton like at Nebraska?
It better be.. Ironically, if we didn't have Uncle Donny our o-line could be better and Dylan would have stayed. Hmm..

The NCAA needs to put the transfer rule back in place that if you transfer you sit a year and honestly that's all they would have to do to stop all this BS.

Oh, and if you don't want to be at Nebraska, pound sand. So sick of it.

Spend all that DR cash, and then some, for OL and DL. I won't miss him.

I don't know anything that can be verified about players and their families. What I can verify is that being a fan of Nebraska in this era is mechanical. I go to the games and enjoy them, knowing that these kids aren't playing for a coach or a state, or even their hometown anymore, save maybe 10 kids. I don't fault any kid for getting a bag of money if they can get it. It's still easy to stay apathetic, because to me it just feels like a bunch of kids in a red jersey. There's not much else behind it.
