As of yesterday, there were 188 QBs in the portal. There are 136 FBS teams.

You can safely presume probably at least half of those in the portal are chasing a starting job, but likely considerably more than half. I don't know the numbers, but you can subtract off that 136 total FBS teams those teams which have a returning starter.

The math means there are going to be a lot of disappointed QBs who jumped in the portal.

Some that don't get a scholarship to be a starter or backup will end up at the 160 division 2 programs, and maybe lower?

If your FBS team tells you to take a hike, you may not be at that level, and need to drop down, im sure a healthy % is those guys.
