Do teams just retract scholarships after the season is over? Are the scholarships done on a per-semester basis?

I’m not sure schools can just pull scholarships for no cause any more. But there are ways to push a player to leave without pulling his scholarship. It’s often a win-win with the player transferring to a school where he’ll get more playing time & the school freeing up a scholarship.

I look forward to seeing this be a trend. It's a far cry from a large university's training table to a cafeteria in a community college. Maybe after word spreads it will less of a problem but I'm doubting that will be the case
