. . . I can think of two:

Zoom calls and meetings - Never used it before, but it is 1000% better than driving to and from a client's office for a FTF meeting, much easier to schedule group meetings, can share documents easily, or email documents back and forth. I will definitely continue to use in the future.

Have spent very little money. Other than golf, there is nothing that I want to do that I easily can do, e.g., bars, restaurants, travel, movies, concerts, baseball or football games, etc. Can't even buy my wife a new bike, which she needs, so we can go on longer bike rides together. So at least I am saving money. Of course, I am very blessed and fortunate to have a job, which a lot of Americans don't at the moment.

Any others?

More time with family
Not having to take 1/2 day off work to meet someone to fix or install something at the house
No commute (already mentioned)...this is glorious to me.

ESPN airs Super Rugby from New Zealand since not many other sports are active. Before COVID those games were only available on streaming services.

Since most of my travel and leisure activities are now nonexistent, my yard has never looked better.

The half hour commute to and from my office now takes 20 mins.

Hate to say it, but lack of sports has shown me how much sports actually consumed my time before all this. The TV was literally on sports almost non-stop when I was home. We've gone days at a time without having the TV on in my house the last 4 months.

Sure leaves a lot of time for other things. Reading my Bible. Time with family. Going outside. Playing sports instead of watching them. Playing more guitar. Playing with my kids. Going to hang out with friends. Work in the yard. Finish my basement. Exercising. Reading.

Not sure if I'll ever go back to watching as much sports as I did before. Actually, I'm almost sure I won't.

- I'm sleeping much better. Working from home and getting rid of the commute each day has me sleeping an extra 90 mins in the morning and feeling good about it.

- Along those lines, having an extra hour in the evenings lets me get everything done around the house that needs it. I'm to the point of looking for things to work on.

- Working with my dogs at my feet... kinda awesome.

I had major surgery and I am now going through the healing process. It will probably take 12 months before I can start running again, ,maybe more. So I am spending time building my strength and spending time in the pool as it gives me good, low impact exercise.

I would hate to go through this when I had trips planned, etc. So there has been very little change in my lifestyle because of COVID. But my 9 hour surgery changed things a little.

They were able to shut down all of Euclid/Ave of Champions and replace the sewer line in a few months. If they would have done it with school in session traffic around campus and downtown would be an absolute clusterf*** for over a year.

I will not be cynical with this - promise

People frequently seem glad t speak to one another when they finally have social situations

I think people have reprioritized their lives a bit as as well and along a more reasonable needs vs wants basis

cheap airline tickets

other diseases have all apparently disappeared- so we got that going for us

There’s been a lot of NASCAR, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Family time.

Plenty of relaxation time.

No plans/parties/meetings etc. to try to get out of.

I think it opens up an opportunity for parents who have THOUGHT about home schooling (and have the capacity etc)...to really prioritize that choice now -

also think - AS MUCH AS INLOVE FOOTBALL AMD BASKET— it’s allowed many to step back from things they couldn’t imagine doing without - and realizing they don’t miss them like they thought they would — then direct that time into your kids / your friends and family (as long as their janky asses are six feet away) - and new hobbies like ...running for sheriff

Also - hygiene

i think we’ve ALL been a little lax in that department if we’re honest...wearing clothes for days on end ...picking up recently dropped morsels and eating them under the “thirty seconds rule”....flossing once a quarter-

those things are now UNACCEPTABLE and obviously reflective of poor upbringing and lazy
Attitudes!

stop eating shot off the ground!
START washing fruits recently purchased from flea markets and what not ...

Peace

More beach time. More fishing time....oh wait. We already make time for those things. If I were still working, it wouldn't have been from home.

  • Kids who were plotting a school shooting are pretty bummed right now
  • My dog is getting twice the walks and twice the attention. She's a spoilt lil b and makes some delish applesauce if you catch my drift.
  • I've had more time to think about working out and reading more
  • More entertainment material watching the morons on social media lose their ****

I had to work from home for 7 weeks and I F**KING HATED IT!!!!

I'm getting therapy again for the first time in 13 years because the Covid lockdown and restrictions have triggered my anxiety disorder.

The one good thing is we now have our meetings via Microsoft Teams so I don't have to leave my desk to attend.

.

Yep. That is how I managed to lose 20 pounds.

Originally we were supposed to go back to the office the day after Labor Day. I was told today that there is now no set date. Also I'm being sent a new laptop for some reason

The money saved is astronomical, and people should really be taking advantage of it (although the other side of the coin is that saving doesn't help the economy).

I paid off $9,000 in CC debt since Mid-March that I probably would have still had otherwise. Eating lunch out at work? $35-40/week. My bar weekend bar tabs? Probably up to $150 at times. No gas. No work needed on my car. No haircuts. No dry cleaning. Don't need to buy clothes.

How about your time? 1.5 hours less commuting, able to tackle small chores during the day (hey, if Susan can take up an hour smoking at work, I can do the dishes and laundry). I was able to re-do the deck and tackle a ton of small house projects. I bet none of that would have been done otherwise.

If you played it right.. COVID could be a literal game-changer for many people.

Bought a new piano and plenty of time to practice.

No commute...thus no brainless Lexington drivers texting and driving and making me miss green lights unnecessarily. I get back about 1.5 hours of each day.

Yard work is caught up because weekends are less busy.

Very fortunate that I have a job where I can telecommute.

wake up at 755 and roll into work by 756. No hour plus in the car is amazing and have saved some gas money the last 4 months I can spend on (even more) alcohol instead.

I work for an essential manufacturing company, so I have been in the office every single day since this mess started. Not much has changed there. My wife works (ed) in NYC 3 weeks a month, so that was stopped for now, and she has been working from her home office. Having her there full time has been a change.

Otherwise, we are now back going to restaurants a couple of times a week, church, shopping, golf, having friends/family over, etc. Watching sports on TV and not being able to attend if I wanted to is the major drawback, along with no concerts, of which we did regularly.

Watching the country in distress has been difficult...I keep trying to fast forward 6 months and hope a lot of this is resolved.

I've filled up 4 times since March. And one of those times was only because I drove to Owensboro to visit my parents
