is set to visit MSU. Sounds like a very good pitcher from Memphis area, Fenter is his name.

I don't recall much flipping in baseball but maybe the new baseball digs are having an impact.

I know a guy connected to the program and he told me they just really don't have a spot for another major-league arm on the roster right now. ***

From an Ole Miss buddy - the "Dulin Dodgers" are where this team is coming from. The son of Dulin left Ole Miss this year and the dad Dulin either coaches or runs the summer team.

We're only recruiting him because UM went to the CWS last year. That's actually the only reason we recruit anyone now. We were about to pack it up before that happened.

Daniel Garner played for Dulin's Dodgers too. So that appears to be blown smoke, although the guy's son probably carries more weight.

Houston Nutt was our coach. In hindsight, Korvic Neat may have actually been ahead of Bumphis on our board that year.

You got a great receiver. We got a professional punt muffer.

So, this is what a Spirit poster had to say about it...probably half true/half

not:

Tim Dulin is a crybaby, and his son is no better. In hindsight, our staff

should have never taken Dalton. He was never good enough to be an SEC player,
and now his Dad is crying because he thought his son should be playing. Our
staff basically did it as a favor to Tim, and look where it's gotten
us.

His son was not well liked by other players, wasn't an SEC caliber
player, and was a ******** around campus. Dad thought his son should be playing
2B all season, and the kid couldn't field a groundball. The pitchers made fun
of him while hitting him fungo because he would boot 1 out of every 4.

If
Tim isn't careful, this is going to hurt him much more than it will hurt Ole
Miss. Maybe not right away, but it will going forward. He needs to quit acting
like a woman and grow up. His son wasn't good enough......never was. Sometimes
you have to get over it. Your kid isn't good enough to play D1 sports

That's spot on on Dalton Dulin. The part about Tim Dulin mostly isn't. The bigger issue with these two was their relationship with Godwin to go along with a bunch of their friends already committed and recruiting them hard to MSU. There is going to be some extended ripple effects from Godwin leaving -- especially when it wasn't a lights-out sure thing hire to replace him. He may prove good in time -- but he certainly doesn't have the type of recruiting connections Godwin did when you brought him in...

To your point, I think he's saying that Ole Miss was partially responsible for Dulin being able to claim those players...I don't know if that's true or not, but that seems to be what he is insinuating.

NOT insinuating anything; I just copied and pasted the information from the Dulin Dodger's website. ... http://dulinsdodgers.com/dodgers-alumni/. According to what is posted there ... all these are/were players on their teams.

Red, what happened on the Bell kid leaving? To me he looked like a great hitter

in the making, was his glove that bad?

Yes, and he won't be in line for much more playing time any time soon. Errol Robinson is an every day guy (either SS or 2B) and we redshirted a JC guy (Toth) last year. Also incoming are Tate Blackman (Top 100 rated who was rated #1 MIF by PG at one point) and Jay King (highly regarded JUCO SS) there just aren't enough ABs to go around. We also brought in two more guys (coaches love Watson from Desoto) in the MIF. Bell's arm and glove weren't good enough for 3B and he wasn't going to beat out any of those guys or possibly Bortles for that spot. Also have a couple of freshmen coming in that can play 3B (Fitzsimmons being one). He wants to be a SS and there's 0 chance he does it at OM without several injuries.

In short, the kid wasn't going to play any more than he did this year, and he wants playing time, just like Dalton Dulin. The biggest loss, to me, is Clay Casey of Desoto Central deciding to go JUCO instead of stick with his signing at Ole Miss. Word is that he and Dulin situation are related.

You don't understand. There's no symmetry with the karma. If he flips to MSU, that gives him GOOD karma. I know that's a double standard and I don't care.

I see a lot of players nationwide de-committing, spurning pro contracts, et. al.

..just for the chance to play at that new Dudy Noble Field.
