1. Croom is gone.
2. Absolutely nothing is off the table for the next head coach.

I think its funny as hell that someone can post that Petersen is a no go. Give me a break. When I listened to GB post that our salary would be competitive in the SEC, all bets went out the window.

Secondly, GB was prepared for Saturday's meeting. Christ, he said "you have to be prepared for these things".
GB is no idiot. He knew at the very least there was a strong possibility that he would be looking for a new coach before Saturday.

Speculate all you want, but I promise you no one is off limits right this minute. GB pulled Cohen in. I think this was a much harder battle because of RP foaming at the mouth.
It appears that Croom as stepped aside gracefully, (I would too for 3M). Byrne is going to get the best person that is interested.
The bigger question is who really is interested. Take the reporters' comments with a grain of salt because they don't know squat.
Like it or not, it is squarely on Greg's shoulders.

except for the Cohen thing.

John Cohen would have crawled to Starkville naked on broken glass for the head coaching job at MSU.

I heard it was $5 million. Which shocks me. Fulmer only got 6.

Let me clear what I meant.

While I agree what you said about Cohen, GB still had to overcome RP's public outcry to hire Raf.

I didn't mean imply it was about Cohen but more about Ron.

It was $5 million, just not all of it to Croom. Croom will get $3 million, the other $2 million will be dispersed among the assistant coaches. They all signed 2 year contracts this past year.
