Did anyone notice the handshake line between Howard and pike? Looked like something happened but it was small. It’s at the end of the highlights package on YouTube for the game

Nothing there. I just rewatched the game. Pike and Howard shook hands and Pike gave him a tap on the chest but Howard is a douche and wasn’t really congratulatory of pike by his facial expression.

I thought Coach Slappy was going to hit Pike after he tapped him on the chest in the handshake line. Juwan certainly wasnt in a good mood.

Pike did not seem too pleased with the hammering of the cell phone incident getting out to the media. In the post game interview session, he is unaware of how it got out. By now I’m sure he’s aware of Derek’s mention.
Then at the end of the interview when asked how he kept the team relaxed (or something along those lines), he responded “by smashing cell phones” which was quite funny.

The way he acts is not something you want players to copy. No sportsmanship and no class.

Looked and didn't see it either. I watched Howard's, guy can barely put a sentence together.
I never understood how someone in such a leadership position can struggle to put a sentence together , just like you said .

Howard is mad because he has to hear about how “buttgers” sent them to the NIT from UM’s diabolical fanbase

Try listening to Howard's press conference where he gave RU and a couple of players and Pike credit
Howard gave RU credit only when asked by the media if credit should be given to RU for todays results.

Pike always credits the other team. Howard only did so when prodded by a reporter.

Take of two cites. Each a little extreme imo.

Howard gave Rutgers enormous props and he did sound articulate. Maybe too many um’s in his speech. But how many of the crackerjack critics give public speeches and can do a better job?
I've given 20+ hour long presentations in front of 1000+ attendees while working at Kraft. Does that count?

I didn't critique the pressor but just wanted to qualify myself in advance in case I wanted to weigh in.

Weigh in if you deem it appropriate.

He looked very uncomfortable when he gave his opening statement. Obviously, he hates losing and didn't want to face the press. Once the questios started flowing, Slappy seemed more at ease and presented himself well.

Sour grapes from Slappy.
I actually like Howard more after that presser.
I agree. After the presser I viewed Coach Slappy as less of a dvck.

He didn't volunteer those positive comments about RU-- he had to be asked--- Pike does it without it being pryed out of him

Craig put up the recap and his three thoughts post

I did the mini preview and press conference video from RU/B1G.

I’ll have everything from today. And who wouldn’t honestly pick Michigan yesterday. Wolverines easily won last time they played and RU hasn’t been great.

We’ll see today!

I never understood how someone in such a leadership position can struggle to put a sentence together , just like you said .
And yet we’ve elected presidents, from both parties, who struggle to put sentences together on a fairly regular basis. Go figure.

I think of public speaking as a crucial skill for strong leadership. But I value leading by example much more highly. Howard has had some hiccups with that. Pike seems to be exemplary in leading by example.
