If I were Rebel fans I wouldn't get too excited about this cowbell thing because the
PC Police are not yet done with you. "Rebels is a connotation for those
who supported slavery"- Sharpton types and when the media gets rolling
you will one day be officially the Mississippi Black Bears. As a state
fan I am sad to see this trend because while it could give me humor of
Bears and all that, it sucks when it takes away our traditions. Both schools should fight, not cower
to the powers that be, at least demand a noise level study showing the reasons why
this tradition should be banned as well as you should fight any effort
to name changes because they are coming. No colonel reb to no flag
waving to no "South will rise again" song, i swear they will come after
the nickname Rebels next and the grand finale of gutting the name "Ole
Miss" because it is reminiscent of the antebellum South. Its coming get
prepared.

<span style="font-weight: bold;">If it is proven</span> that our
cowbells don't give us an advantage over SEC schools like Bammer, Auby,
LSU, UF, UT, GA, even SC which i guarantee are much louder than our
cowbelled stadium, then itd be akin to banning the Grove, the Auburn
eagle flying, the Vol Navy, LSU night games, woo pig sooie, rammer
jammer, hotty toddy, Cockaboose Railroad, Uga, Smokey, and that damn
tiger! All traditions which do not impact the game.

Yes we know they are "illegal" and yes they probably make more noise
than a crowd of 55,000 would normally make, but todays game is almost
exclusively communicated through signals, so noises not exceeding at
least half of the other SEC schools shouldnt be a punishable offense. I,
as well as most MSU fans am also am open to reopening the issue if we
ever close in DWS to not have a noise advantage but that is not
currently the case and I think the SEC should respect our tradition.

Those are my thoughts and I am interested to see what yall think.
