#1 Essex - #8 Franklin
#2 Sussex - #7 Middlesex
#3 Col Beach - #6 Northumberland
#4 West Point - #5 W&L

Rider points could flip the 5 and 6 seeds, and Northampton could grab the 8 with a win over Arcadia and a Franklin loss. Lots of football still to be played.

I have a feeling that Northumberland will be the 5th seed and W&L the 6th. Both teams will most likely be 7-3 at the end of the regular season. NHS won the head to head which should help them outpoint the Eagles.

Hey, I'd kinda like to see that Northumberland v West Point game....

I do believe that some WP fans said they were the better team over the Indians in that scrimmage they played this year (plus NHS only has one good player and so on).

Let's find out....

I say those projections are pretty solid. I believe Northampton grabs #8 by beating Arcadia. If they lose it's gonna be close between them and Franklin. It appears Northumberland needs Trinity Episcopal to win in order to get that #5 seed as far as I can tell and that's based on W&L losing Friday and Northumberland winning.
BUT, I haven't bother to calculate anything as of 7:40 Sunday night.

By that I mean I haven't grabbed a pencil, paper and a calculator to project anything at this point. I suspect at this moment that a Trinity win would create a tie between Northumberland and W&L.

I believe a Northampton win at Arcadia would give Northumberland the 5 seed. If they take down 2A Nandua and 2A Arcadia in back to back weeks they will have earned that 8 seed.

The likely scenario is that Northampton gets in the playoffs even with a loss. All they need is Chincoteague to win on Fri night and they are in if both teams lose. If my math is correct in the event that both teams lose, they will end up with 144 points unless Chincoteague wins which will give Northampton 146. Also worth noting the Brunswick vs Park View hurt Franklin who would receive a rider point from either team.

I had Franklin at 146. 126+15(loss to 3A Southampton)+5 rider points from projected wins from CB, PV, Sussex, Essex, Greensville.

Northampton at 144. 130+10 (loss to 2A Arcadia)+4 rider points from projected wins by Midd, Northumb, Chinc.
Maybe I missed something...a lot of moving parts in these calcs

I do not believe the PV Brunswick fiasco has been settled yet. Last info had Brunswick forfeiting

Your right Franklin would potentially be at 146 and if Chincoteague wins Northampton would be at 146 as well.
If one team forfeits that would give Franklin the edge by 1pt.

Why would Franklin receive rider points from teams that beat them? If I'm not mistaken you only get rider points(bonus pts) from teams that you have defeated..

From my math, if everyone 8-11 Loses then Franklin gets in at 3-7, 146 points. If Northampton loses they'll probably be in 9th at 145. Of course a lot can go into these ratings when it comes to rider points. One upset could lock Franklin further in or allow Northampton to jump Franklin.
However, if any team wins it could push them up into the 8th spot.
8. Northampton win over Arcadia 159
9. Franklin win over Southampton 165
10. Rappahannock win over Essex 159
11. Surry win over Sussex 159
(all of these are with projected rider/bonus points.)
In a sense, the playoffs have already started for these teams. Unless more than one pull of a win, then someone would still be sitting at home.

2 pts per win for teams you beat, 1 pt per win for teams that beat you. I like to think of it like a Strength of schedule thing. Even though you lost, you still get rewarded for playing a good team.

Franklin, Rappahannock and Surry County will be prohibitive underdogs Friday night. No idea who's the favorite in the Northampton-Arcadia game.

I would think it would have to be NH, they upset Nandua last week

Nandua and Arcadia are terrible 2A teams.... not even remotely considered a average win

Have you seen either of them in person? I just looked at they schedules to see what they were like and it seems Arcadia doesnt come to this side of the Chesapeake Bay for any games and nandua does only a few times. Kind of a weird dynamic that they play more Maryland schools than VA. I guess the toll is something that keeps them over there?

That would be best for WP for the first round and hope WL beats CB. Won't be good for WP to see CB anytime soon.

I may have missed it if it has been discussed already, but did Essex outpoint Riverheads? The Essex point lead was close going into last night.

If Essex did outpoint Riverheads (and prevails in Region A), will they be able to host the state semis?

Of course, Essex has some very tough competition in Region A so may not win but Essex is the only team in East that could host if they win the Region, correct?

Hosting Riverheads is vital...

My understanding is that Essex ended at 24.8 and Riverheads ended at 24.1. Like you said both need to get to that point so it is in no way guaranteed. There are several solid teams in A and a very good WC in B that will have their say in this as well.

Trinity Episcopal won yesterday 47-14 over Fredericksburg Christian.

This guarantees Northumberland the crucial 5 seed (even though I think they already had earned it with the head to head victory over W&L).

Trinity's Tink Boyd broke another Richmond area record with 5 TD receptions in one game. Boyd already had the Richmond area record for yards in a game. I guess Trinity is a one man show as well.....

Eveything u said about Essex hosting is spot on from what i see. As far as the one man, how many Tds did Palmer score this past week?

The person who posted that was providing false information. From what I was told Palmer did not start vs. Lancaster

I was not present at that game but was told Palmer had a part in 6 or 7 TDs (not sure if he started).

3 passing TDs, 2 rushing TDs, and maybe 2 defensive TDs.

Collin Saunders had another pic 6. NHS kicker Harry Lee went 6 for 6.

It was 6. 1 rush, 3 pass, 2 pick sixes.
It was 41-7 when NHS began to sub (that's what I heard) and LHS cut it to 41-33. NHS returned an onside kick for a TD and Palmer returned an INT for a TD on the game's final play.

So he certainly did not score 7 TDs in the first half as I believe someone posted previously

I was told NHS 1st stringers went back in when LHS cut lead to 41-33.

LHS was kicking off but Northumberland scored two TDs in final 38 seconds to prevent comeback upset!

Well.... Since their starting QB Eggers (6'4" 225) didn't play the First Half, and WR #9 went out in first Qtr with injury and didn't return, Coach Mikens used the weapons he had on the field. What was good to watch was local Essex resident #80 Conway for FCS play both ways at S and WR.
NOw, are you saying or even thinking that any team that faces Northumberland will not be keying directly on Palmer?

My point exactly.

If your weapons cannot be contained, why restrain them unless victory is well in hand?
