The SEC has 10 schools ranked in the top 25 recruiting class rankings on both Scout.com and Rivlas.com. That is freaking amazing. State will have a bottom-half recruiting ranking in the SEC, but will be a top 25 ranked team nationally.

I disagree. It means that the SEC is bringing in talent like no other conference. Yes, you can't evaluate a class until 3 to 4 years, but it shows that SEC is continuing to stock-pile talent at a rate greater than any other conference.

..the SEC fanbases. (The SEC fanbases put more worry & money into recruiting nonsense than any other conference fanbases in the nation).

Rivals.com & Scout.com are businesses that aim to please.

Case in point: If Scout.com gives all the MSU signees 2 stars, & then ranks MSU's class #55 in the nation, how are Gene & Mary Ann going to eat?</p>

I'm not disputing the fact that the rankings aren't an exact science and might be skewed, but I just think that it shows the strength of the SEC when you can pull in 10 of the top 25 recruiting classes. Its not like people in the Big10, Big12, ACC, and Pac-10 don't follow recruiting. Also, though the rankings aren't an absolute indicator of future success, it is pretty telling when the top 15 schools year in and year out usually also appear on the top 25 recruiting rankings year in and year out.

they've won two BCS titles since, I'd say that in general, the more 4 and 5*'s you bring in, the better your chances are of having real talent instead of diamonds in the rough.

Alabama had the #1 class last year, they started 12-0 and played a lot of freshmen.
