1. Why can't I get rid of the thought of DGN giving Libertyville a game?

2. Why can't I get rid of the thought of Sycamore giving Naz a game? And even if they don't I'm equally as excited to see the annual private school bitching session via DeKalb area media?

3. That Bolingbrook will hang with Naperville Central for four quarters?

4. LW West....your Class 5A state champion?

5. That the weather this weekend could bring some of the strangest results we've ever seen in Round 1?

deep thoughts by Jack Handey.........bot 8A very difficult to call. Neq could lose in 1st round or get to title game. WV could lose 1st round or get to semi. Wide open. They really held Washington's hand in 5A. 7A Cary v Batavia no clue in Quarters. 6A semi's will be fun to watch.

You have to like LWW's chances of getting to the title game. They drop to 5A as the largest school and get to go South. Nice draw.

Other nice draws? St. Laurence to the semis. Montini and PR to the semis. Geneva to the semis.

Can we get a clarification if "not crossing the 50" means no offensive snaps on the opponents side or no offensive play that actually crosses the 50 yd line?

Well, one reason might be that Sycamore beat Naz at Naz just two years ago.

The offense will not begin a drive in their territory and advance the ball across mid-field. Turnovers don't count.

That was a very different Naz team as well as a very different Sycamore team...

Actually most of the same Naz kids they are just grown up now and don't put the ball on the turf 5 times a game. Naz gave that game away.

Well, either Naz gave the game away or Sycamore created and took advantage of turnovers, depending on one's perspective. Bottom line is Sycamore played a road playoff game in LGP just two years ago and left with the win.

Hmmm...
LWW 5a Champs
LWN 6a Champs
LWE 7a Champs.

Far fetched but could happen....

If only Central could have gotten their act together and made the playoffs....oh well. Dream scenario obviously. West has the best shot of making it to the game, North COULD beat SHG but that's a tall task but who knows? They've had some very flukey, team of destiny type wins, it could happen. I have no doubt that East could do it. Coach Z always has his boys ready to play. Plus they don't have a rematch with either of those two losses. If they make it past round 2 then I could see them making some serious noise

And QB Carson Bartels was a So, Slash Julian Love was a So, RB Ivory Kelly-Martin was a Fr, Lineman Matt Prendergast was a So, Lineman Devonte Dunn was a Fr, etc etc etc.

If you know anything about Naz that year you'd know they either gave every game away or tried to give it away. (I know JCA guys you spank them that day regardless of their TO's) Seriously averaged over 4 TO's a game. AVERAGED. It was tough to watch. The mistakes in that Sycamore game were frustrating from even a slightly biased outside perspective. Sycamore was a good team that year and made plays but Naz gave them way too much. That was a crazy young, inexperienced Naz team that played Sycamore that game, those kids are still at Naz but now they've won 21 games since including a State title and 5 playoff games. I don't see Sycamore having much of a chance here.

But Naz will still go out occasionally and rack up double digit numbers in penalties, that hasn't changed.
