Stratton pitches 2 innings, (state scored 4 in the first two innings;leaving another start possible?) and Thompson goes with R. Mitchell until he puts Holder in for the 9th. Another inning scoreless.

But I'm goin with the upset. 6-3 UAB. I don't know why or how, but I just feel an upset comin for FSU. Maybe them not pitching their #1/2 hurts them, who knows? I just feel it.

As bad as I hate it, something just doesn't seem right in this matchup. If we had another 20 points in team batting average maybe I'm not as concerned, but I have an eerie feeling about tomorrow. I am hoping beyond hope I am wrong. This is another reason I am in favor of Strat taking the hill tomorrow. Let's go Dogs, this has gotten serious now!!

Maybe if we played MVSU again? Samford is about as good a matchup as a #2 seed is going to get.

you can never be "comfortable", even when you are 4th out of 291 teams in ERA. Especially when the team you are facing is 18th in the country in BA. That's just the game we play right now. Every outing will be by the skin of our teeth. If Central Arkansas can shut us out, the pitcher with the most wins in the country can damn sure do it (unless they do not, in fact, start him). Strat could go 9 innings tomorrow and cause our team ERA to go down even further than what it is right now, and we could still lose. That is just the facts. Look what happened to DSU today.

5-2 if somebody else starts. Stratton will keep his 0.00 ERA (and UERA) intact. He's major league quality.

We're taking the same ****** offensive team into ALL the games at the regional, not just the one against Samford. If we can't beat Samford without pitching Stratton, like some of you seem to think (and Cohen seems to think too), then we may as well not even show up down there. Because if we can't beat Samford without pitching Stratton, there's no way in hell we're going to win 2 of 3 against Florida St. without him.
