How does the formula work? # 16 John Champe has defeated #4 Woodgrove week one ? Hard to believe Woodgrove is # 4 now or at least Champe should get more respect 16 for that victory?
The short version, however, is this. Champe only won by 3. They were ranked a smudge ahead of Woodgrove after that game. Woodgrove since then has played fantastic against two VHSL teams. Champe hasn't played a VHSL game so they're just treading water. If they are really better than Woodgrove they'll be proving that in the next couple of weeks on the field and they'll shoot by them. If that 3 point win in week one was nothing more than a classic upset (about 1/8 of games are simply that, the best team doesn't win), then that will show in future weeks also.
