Just beware, tomorrow Ryan Buchanan will commit to Ole Miss and Feldman and all the other meat market cronies will praise Freeze for doing nothing. They will talk about what a great recruiter he is and how he has really turned things around, blah blah blah. The truth is that he did absolutely nothing to get this guy and if Ole Miss had a mixture between a bulldog and shitzu as their head coach, they still would have gotten him. I actually respect the kid for going to the school he wanted, but he chose the school, not the coach. However, wait and see who gets the credit. You heard it here first.

From what I have been hearing, we have never been in it and our coaches have known that. When I saw yesterday that we were on his "final list" I figured he was choosing OM. That is really the only real reason we would still be listed. You keep us on there for all of the "he chose OM over MSU stories."
Now, anyone who says that Freeze has not done a good job so far is wearing a very large pair of Maroon colored glasses. Freeze has done an outstanding job so far given the situation he inherited.

Four years of getting your body hammered by SEC lineman is not good for your life expectancy

Buchanan will start his Sophomore through Senior yearsbe able to say heQB'd lossesfive through seven in the very long losing streak the Bears will have to MSU.

an ole miss fan and that it is no monumental coup to get him, i would say freeze does deserve some credit. the kid has committable offers from a bunch of top programs and for us to get him after a 2-10 yr going into another that doesn't look like a huge turnaround is good work by freeze. he apparently has sold him on the future in a way that, say, billy brewer couldn't do with peyton manning in similar circumstances. i'm not saying it makes freeze a magician, but so say buchanan to ole miss was a lock is not accurate either.

so until they get one that is worth a **** then I will worry. They keep looking for the next manning and he just isn't out there. I watched the Prep, Forrest game last year and if this is the same QB he did not impress me. Pearl will eat his lunch on the Cspire game.

I think UF still has a real shot. I would not think Bama is really in the mix, Saban really doesn't send QB's to play in the NFL.
I do know he had a good visit to Auburn this spring.

I just want to sign a HS QB that someone else in the SEC actually wants. We haven't done that in a long time.

The kid apparently had legit offers from AU and FL which is better than pretty much every HS QB we have signed since Eli. We have to start somewhere.

I'll make my opinion of Freeze's recruiting when he isn't able to tell kids "We have zero depth, you could start tomorrow." That's the biggest draw. No recruit cares they went 2-10 because it's not the same coach. After year #1 under Freeze with another winless season that's a different story.

for recruiting but we sure as heck wanted Brunetti when he came out of HS. And its ridiculous he didn't come with us rather than wasting a year at WV and then ended up with Nutt's offense which was not really a good fit for him. Looking back now I just wish we would have gotten him rather than wasting 2 years on Favre the pothead.

Yeah...Nick Saban, Dan Mullen, Mike Gundy, Paul Petrino, Larry Fedora, and others don't have **** on your QB evaluation skills.

In that Forest game he was 11-19 with 144 yards and a TD against a public school. Doesn't sound like a poor performance too me.

Ole Miss signs all these QB's year in and year out and they do nothing. I think it will be the same with this guy. He will get lost in the shuffle, then figure out he's not that goodand end up playing baseball where he will probably contribute. </p>

having seen this guy play several games, I'm not convinced he's D1. He may be all-world in the camp setting, but he doesn't impress me that much in the game settings.

going to be a true D1 prospect, he is either a soph or Jr. He believe he is the real deal, don't have a name but you probably do.

a poor line in front of him then he will not be successful. If the line play is poor then QB is going to struggle, that is one of<div>the laws of nature and few QB's are athletic enough to overcome it though Masoli did a pretty fair job of it. I don't think</div><div>Ryan has the athleticism of Masoli.</div>

I've never seen him play so you could be correct. However, he does have offers from Oklahoma State (top 5 team last year with great passing offense), Auburn and Alabama (last 2 national champions), Arkansas (great passing offense), Arkansas State (Malzahn is offensive guru), and Florida (recruits nationally). Also Syracuse, North Carolina, Southern Miss, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. Obviously, somebody sees something they like.

Game speed is a totally different thing, however. Just don't see him doing much at the next level.

That being the case, he's going to get a ton of offers because programs are going to be confident they can teach him what they need to.

Kevin Fant had every tool to be successful, and given a half decent o-line he could have been the 2nd Tim Couch. He started behind the worst offensive line of all time sophomore year and never recovered. Unless Ole Miss signs all 5 1st team JUCO All-American linemen next year I see the same story playing out with whoever they put under center. No way a drop back passer survives a full season at Ole Miss... As far as coming MSU, I don't blame him for not choosing us. If he came here Mullen would humble his *** and he'd sit until he could seperate himself from a two year starter or another decently recruited QB one year behind him. You have to earn it here, there you just have to show up. The roles have reversed.

Ethan Flatt was the last HS QB, but yes, most have been transfers.

Spurlock started 8 games in '04 (last game against State, played RB) ... Flatt started 9 games in '05 ... Stanley started 1 game in '10 ... he was the last HS QB signed that started a game.

More trivia ... the last 3 OM QBs that were around for all four years of eligibility as a Rebel were ... David Morris, Eli Manning and Michael Spurlock.

Apparently, zero and nutt decided to go the 'quick fix' route and I thought Bucky was headed down the same path with the signing of Wallace. Guess we will see if he can 'develop' a QB.

Freeze is different. I am not saying he can coach his way out of a JV game but remember he did try to get Liggins and Alford last year. Wallace was signed because he knows the system and we needed immediate QB help. I think Freeze will go after a high school QB every year. </p>

I understand Jackson Prep has played a few more public schools over the last few years, but i still don't think the defenses that he has been seeing week in and week out is comparable in MISA or whatever they call it these days to what alot of the public school qb's in 3A and up are used to seeing. I guess his camps have been impressive but i still don't see his on the field performances being that great knowing the defenses he has gone up against. He does have a nice list of offers though.

If the recruit in question is at Jackson Prep, white, a quarterback, of an affluent family and even remotely fits whatever offensive system is in Oxford (and at the moment, he's exactly what they want), this should be a shoo-in, supposed-happen-no-what signee.<div>
</div><div>I give Freeze no credit on this one. I think he's done great work breathing life into what I know Houston didn't do, but in this instance, JD6 or Coach34 could've recruited that kid to Ole Miss.</div>

but if I'm an Ole Miss fan I am extremely pleased. He is the absolute best prospect they could have hoped to sign.

I understand getting a QB if needed but that QB should be one that will fit into the offense.
