See my post in the other thread. But I guess I'll say it here too. If Illinois had a dome like Northern Iowa you would see a push to move the championship games there. Is there an indoor venue in the state that could accommodate a game? I can't think of one. Sad that
"one horse towns" like Indy can put on their championships indoors. Heck even Iowa had their's indoors!

You're right. This is just high school football. My comment may have been harsh earlier but I'm a bit upset. This is a awesome illinois high school football board that I love but I am hearing some rumblings that honestly made me pretty ticked.Seems like another career criminal thug bit the dust and was on dust at the hands of police in Chicago and the riots are set and the match is close to be struck. That would/could cancel the Prep Bowl if this happens.Meanwhile a 9 and 2 year old are dead and not 1 not 1 bit of anger!!! Now back to the beautiful world of high school football.Sorry Edgy and everyone else.
To have this historic game at the home field of one of the participants trivializes the event ever further than it already has been.
Yes MC63 they do. They have had it for 5 or 6 years I think. I don't like indoor football or baseball.Indoor football ... God forbid!!!!
Northern Iowa has a dome? An incredible waste of taxpayer money and an awful idea.
Tough it out, boys.
ps: Places that build indoor football stadiums would be better off spending those $$$ on libraries.
wonder what happened to the use of Lane Stadium for the Prep Bowl game? Seems to me that it was a nice option, the place is nice since the renovation and would be a true neutral site. I am hearing speculation that since Gately was already cleared of the snow and the lots plowed due to hosting the Phillips playoff game that may have been the determining factor but who knows.
What does Simeon have to do with this they are not playingHow many games does Simeon play at Gatley?

That was largely or completely privately financed no?But wouldn't a retractable dome on the lake front be a huge money maker? Look at the Jerry Dome in Dallas

Big Kell,
I wish there was an dome in Chicago too.
The Bears only played one game indoors at the Chicago Stadium, the 1932 NFL championship against the Giants. The Stadium could only accommodate an 80 yard long field.
few NFL stadiums are privately funded. The NFL has a number of tricks to extort public money for new and refurbished facilities. Their best to date is the threat of the team moving to Los Angeles.. I love how they charge the Pentagon for those phony military salutes. That was largely or completely privately financed no?
Dang, MC, you are right it was the Spartans. Not sure where I came up with the Giants.
Are you sure you weren't there?
