1) Mullen can't wait to leave, all recruits will soon know this.
2) Ole Miss has a sustainable situation they don't
3) MSU season is a complete lightning in the bottle situation, the stars aligned
3) Our 4 and 5 Star recruiting will bury them
3) Hugh is damn near perfect in every possible way
4) Starkville sucks
5) When they get caught for steroids this will be so over

What did I leave out?

PS: Apologies to the few level headed OM posters that post here.

Mississippi State got so many first place votes because the voters were confused about which Mississippi was Ole Miss.**

I have a few Rebel buddies that I go back and forth with... I told one of them Sunday that whats going on with my team is too important to me for me to be worried about whats going on with OM. At this point... I could care less of the outcome of their games. Hopefully, it will set up for us to crush their dreams of Atlanta when we head to Oxford.

And don't forget the Bo for Heisman movement being picked up by some in the state media. Courtney Cronin had a video on the CL website looking at Bo's Heisman chances. Give me a break.

Connerlly, maybe. We can all be sure at this point Dak won't win it.

Their sphincters are are so tight they are damn near closed up. Little brother can't stand to be behind us. Get ready for the Dak rumors, and the hate machine because it's coming.

Don't forget: Being ranked #3 is better than #1. MSU has the spotlight and all the pressure and a target on your back, whereas we get to fly under the radar somewhat. We get to play the all-important "disrespect" card and play with a chip on our shoulders. And there's no real substantive difference between #1 and #3 anyway because we have to play each other, so this will be settled on the field. (I actually believe this one, to be honest.)

I like the "Auburn gave you the game" talk. You know, like a fumbled kick off return and a late interception by Alabam......uh I mean Auburn.

The last point is a good one, but there are lots of assumptions implicit in that one, namely, that we both win out. Lots of games still to be played.

Have seen this from Auburn fans as well. I think it's laughable coming from them, because how many times in the last 10-15 years have we lost to Auburn and come away feeling like we were the better team, but gave it away?

Chris Kiffin's Twitter picture will have "#1 #1 #1" on it by the end of the week. Watch for the 3 guys who voted them #1 to all of a sudden have the attention of pretty white women. Their brothers all get full-rides to Ole Miss!!!

Why do they seem to forget about State's 4 turnovers? We tried to give it to them, too.
Ours were stupid turnovers too, unlike Auburn's which came from tipped passes and hard hits. We should have been up by 30 at halftime if we just don't play stupid football in the 2nd quarter.

I don't understand why people just cant be satisfied with their alma mater having the greatest start in living memory. Blows my mind.

This is probably right from a purely on-the-field perspective.

There is some benefit to being #1 compared to #3 as far as exposure and name recognition. If you're going to make it to number #1 during the season and end up say around #5-#10 versus climbing to #3 and enduing up aroung #5-#10, I think the casual fan will remember the team being #1 a little longer than the team that made it to #3. But if I thought we had players likely to get a big head or start partying a little too much b/c of their #1 ranking, I'd rather be #3.

There may also be some benefit come selection time if it's between a one loss team that spent some time at #3 versus a one loss team that spent several weeks at #1, but that'd take a pretty particular set of circumstances for that to matter.

One of their coveted first place votes was a split vote with State. Herbie voted State 1a, Them 1b, FSU 3

It's all our fault. If we hadn't beat aTm they would've been ranked higher and ol miss would've gotten those first place votes they so rightly deserve. We also screwed them by defeating their real rival lsu there by denying them the glory they so rightly deserve. **

it looks like stupid football now, but he was trying to deliver a knockout blow. I don't know why though, we were beating the **** out of them

Our schedules setup to where it looks like they are getting the sloppy seconds

We play LSU, aTm, and Auburn before OM gets a crack at them. Give each of those 3 their first loss of the year, call in the Rebs to get theirs.

Conversely, they got first shot at Bama and play Arkansas before we do. Arkansas is already down in the standings without any help from OM though.

Are you spinning our spin machine? What is the effect of a double spin?

We also need a new party line. It gets old having to keep saying every week that the team State just beat will be shown to be not that good by the end of the season.

Level-headed fans should believe that we both teams need the other team to be the best team in the country after the Egg Bowl in order for the loser to still have a chance at making the playoff. Win or lose I need State to be the clear cut, undisputed #1 in the country when the Egg Bowl kicks off and should want us at #2. That way if there is a close lost, that team can still make the playoff.

spin 101: They're the first to jump into any conversation about us beating 3 top 10 teams in order to point out that LSU and A&M aren't top 10, but continue to claim they beat the #1 team in the country.

I'm thinking maybe, "Dak's turning pro after this year y'all, even though he's really not that good." Less gifted spinners would be unable to strike the right balance between "Dak really isn't that good at football" and "Dak is good enough at football to turn pro after this year," but I feel confident we can pull this off.
