They scored two touchdowns last night and went for it both times to make the score 16-0. Maybe they practiced two fake extra points. Who knows. They only won 16-6.

Edited to add: In two games, JA hasn't made an extra point and has only attempted one. There goes their chance of winning any type of close game.

JA made a redass fire. Prep won the championship and the jealously and rage at JA led them to an irrational decision -- firing Hawkins. Listen, I can't stand JA, but I really appreciate them getting rid of Hawkins -- the guy lorded over the only period in academy history when you could make a legitimate claim that JA had unseated Prep as the premiere program.

Having Ritter kicking the past three years got rid of all the competition. But they are about to bring in a sophomore to start kicking field goals. He doesn't want to do it, but he has connected on a few field goal tries in practice. I think his max was at 40 yards. So there is still a glimmer of hope in that department.

personality. He was a huge jackass. I was a senior when he got hired. We won the championship despite him. After the first game of the year, a complete asskicking by Lee Academy, the coaches and the players (seniors) basically had a meeting and told him to shut the 17 up and listen to your players/***. coaches. Two years after the first championship ALL of his assistants were gone. What does that tell you?

I had an assistant coach tell me don't listen to anything he says just nod your head and go back to doing what I told you to do. This same assistant coach was pissed all year that Hawkins took two players (myself included) off the defense because he wanted us to be one way players so we could be "fresh" for his ****** offense. Whenever a team got close to scoring against us in a game, we would come in on Hawkins' call. (Keep in mind Hawkins never worked a minute on defense in practice. It wasn't his responsibility and he didn't care. He would play quarterback.) So...we would come in on Hawkins call throughout the year.

In the state championship game, Hawkins was pulling this **** all game. Our assistant coach was pissed. Finally, towards the end of the game us two were running on as Prep was nearing the endzone because Hawkins pushed us out there. Assistant coach jumped out and grabbed us both, looked at Hawkins, and said "@%** you, I've been telling you all year they should be out there. This is my defense and they've played a hell of a game without these two. Your offense hasn't done **** with them. They are staying here."

In short, the man doesn't have a clue what he is doing and once you get pass his "master motivator" front, you realize he is a jackass.

JA's record before, during and after Hawkins coached them proves it. The only time in your school's history that you had the upper hand on Prep was when he was the coach. I don't care how big of a jackass he was or wasn't, he got the results on the field. Y'all deserve what you've got now.

with an ******* when that ******* was whipping Prep. For some reason, being beaten by Prep drives JA ape **** nuts. And you do dumbass **** when something drives you ape **** nuts. In this case, they fired the only coach they ever had that gave them a reign as the best team in Academy ball. It was a redass fire. And it was not rational.

Hawkins firing was in the best interests of everyone within the community. From the outside it appears to be very irrational but Hawkins was outmatched and his weaknesses showed over the last few years. Its good he is gone and David Sykes was a great hire for his replacement. Sykes actually has respect from his team and it is only his first year as the varsity coach. I can't name a single player that played under Hawkins and liked the guy. And like rugbdawg said Hawkins ran off a lot of good assistants who went to MRA, Madison Central, or Northwest Rankin along with some really good players Chaz Ramsey and Peyton Johnson just to name a few.
