Big boy going tonight. North Dakota State transfer. Can be good, but has been knocked around some by good teams...
His last 2 outings were excellent. 7+ IPDoesn’t seem to pitch many innings per game. Looks to be hitable the second time through the lineup.
They haven’t played anywhere’s close to the competition we have. Or that they will see tonight.5 - 1 his last 6 starts, against what I would consider good competition.
I don't think they have either, but some of their opponents are very capable of biting you. They haven’t played anywhere’s close to the competition we have. Or that they will see tonight.

Other than Auburn best teams they’ve played were Kansas & West Virginia. Thise teams would struggle to make the tournament in the SEC.Certainly haven't played nearly as many top level teams, but it's hard to say they haven't performed as well or better than we have against NCAA at large and 9-16 host level teams.
I'll be pleasantly surprised if we make this look at all easy. Feels like TV is the X factor.

That’s why this game is a good matchup for us, as we are rolling out a strikeout pitcher. They have hit more HRs than State. But their Top 5 batters have all struck out over 50 times each including 1 guy who has struck out 74 times.
We actually have performed better vs opposition comparable to what they faced.Point was, we haven't performed any better than they have against quality teams. And if you take our strange Ole Miss dominance out of the mix, it's worse.
Hopefully the potential we all see starts to manifest tonight.

Throw out top 10 & we’re 10-6 in Q1-2 games vs their 18-15. So yeah, our record vs comparable teams is better. Actually, even then Our Q1 & Q2 games are against much higher ranked opponents than theirs is.
Is Aidan Teel still in the lineup for State?
As it should be.Been pretty well relegated to defensive replacement for awhile now. Vito has taken over as the third outfielder of choice.
Maybe but not likely. The vast majority of our Top 25 records are just standard SEC weekends. There's a couple from the '21 post season series with Notre Dame, an AZ St one and a Clemson one but that's it. Rumor has always been that since most (if not all) of the money goes to NCAA we always low ball the attendance number. Yesterday's was announced as just over 10,000 and from all the games I've been to in The Dude there was way more than 10, 000 and Game 2 was less than 8,400 I think announced but way less than that were actually there so it's hard to sayI predict another record breaking attendance.

Some people are into that, though.I don't think they have either, but some of their opponents are very capable of biting you.
Sounds like they are a poor man’s Georgia.They haven't.
We've hit 108 HRs. They've hit 90.
This game is our season. Win and we win the regional = good season. Lose and don’t make it out of our own regional = crappy season to go along with the rest of our teams this year.
My bad. I was looking at their stolen bases. 115. Lol not quite the sameThey haven't.

I think a lot of the folks worried about Cincy were also worried about starting Stone vs Lipscomb. Their schedule is garbage and they still have a worse record than us. If Valencius is his usual self we should win fairly easily.Sounds like they are a poor man’s Georgia.
Their resume isn’t the worst. They have a win over Auburn, and took 2 of 3 from WVU. But other than that, not a whole lot to write home about.
They do have a 4-3 record against the 1-seeds, but 3 of the 4 wins are against #15/#16, so that’s a bit misleading. By comparison, we are only 4-13 against the 1-seeds, but all games have been played against the Top 12. It kinda boils down to where you think the drop off occurs between the haves and the have nots. I think it’s around where we are seeded, honestly. I also think Oregon has no business being seeded higher than 16th, but yet there they are at #11.
Ultimately, we need to simply minimize mistakes (getting behind in counts, free passes, errors, and baserunning mistakes), and that should be enough…..as we are the better team. We’re not THAT much better though, so if we don’t do all of the above, certainly anything can happen.
