Maybe we can meet up soon, you will find out that a lot of people that give you permission will tell you, ok but just you, nobody else, I have a few like that. I have a friend that has some property near Allegre that I am going to before long, as soon as he can show me around, I'll see if I can bring someone along. He said it has been in the family since the 1880's I think he said.

I found a Rolex several years ago. I have found I believe 57 rings now, Mostly class rings. I have found 8 cell phones and hundreds of toe rings, which are usually junk. But this is over 40 years of detecting, off and on. Oh, and probably 100 pair of sun glasses
I always wondered why beaches were a popular spot for this activity. I figured rings and jewelry were from the fingers of mob-hit victims on yachts

I don't metal detect, always wanted to but can't figure mine out for the life of me.

A story about my property. I bought some land in a couple years ago in Hardin County, not far from the Ft. Knox reservation. Behind my property is an old Civil War Fort, was used by the Confederate Army to protect the L&N Railroad trestle. In 2017 before I bought the property, My next door neighbor and the previous owners would let an old man bring his metal detector out and dug up an old cannon ball. ******* neighbors behind me stuck their nose where it didn't belong and got police involved claiming it was on their property which is impossible given someone else owns a strip of land behind mine before you reach their property. To avoid the headache they just gave it to the nosy neighbors so they would shut the hell up. Some people just have to ruin everything and greedy as hell.

I've seen some videos on YouTube where some people have a lot of luck doing underwater metal detecting in beach areas or at popular lakes. Lots of phones, jewelry, and sunglasses being found. I can't believe how many people are that careless with their valuables.

I think so, try it before you sink a lot of money into it just to see if you like it!!

Thought the 35 lb would be a good starter given the weights from the others 🍺
I’ll let you know if I find anything when I start using it and thanks for the info !

543, I did something yesterday i have never done before, found a gas line for a friend that was plastic. He told me that they have tracer wires in them, one was about 18" deep and the other was 8" deep! Never thought I would find them!

Ftr, you ok down there? Looks like yawl got lots of rain!!!!

CM thank goodness I’m in Kentucky right now for the last few years. For some reason God has a gator to grind with Lake Charles, the hurricanes have wiped almost the place clean and now this 17 inches of rain in a day and a half. I’m like a lot of other people that live there and have said the hell with it and move out for good and hope our firm will just let us stay here and work Kentucky Tennessee Carolinas and Georgia. Per capita Lake Charles has had the most people in the US leave and I don’t see it getting any better but I have to go back and help my mom clean up again 😞
Thanks for checking on me, appreciate it brother 🍺

That's interesting!
I did some detecting in Logan County this past weekend and found myself an 1884 Indian head penny in immaculate condition, but it was a pretty slow day besides that.

Great discussion. I dont MD but really enjoy visiting Battlefield parks. Check out American Battlefield Trust on You Tube. Went to Perryville after seeing a video. Might be a place to discuss relics.

Any of you know much about this brand/model of metal detector?

My mom is going to be selling it here soon. It was my stepdad's (he passed away 2 years ago and she is selling some of his stuff that she isn't attached to) and it only has been used a couple of times. I believe he spent like $700 on it new. I'm not even sure what she could sell it for or the best place to sell it. It's a discontinued model from what I have found.

Minelab is a great company that's generally on the cutting edge of MD technology... I don't know much about that specific model other than it was probably great in its day (came out in 2002) and I'm sure it's outclassed by current detectors, but someone who knew what they were doing could surely still pull some great stuff with it. I did a quick check of ebay sold listings, and I saw them anywhere from $285 to pushing $500... If you're not interested in it yourself I'd probably throw it on ebay and just see where the bidding ends up. Probably wouldn't get as much for it from a pawn shop or something like FB marketplace...

Those were good detectors. Had one myself probably 20 years ago. Minelab is the best in the business in my opinion. And I've had every make detector there has been over the last 40 years
