The number officially given on the ULL website to buy tickets goes to an answering machine of somebody named Matthew Cashman or something. No idea if it's wrong or the guy just isn't answering his phone, or what.

I was able to get in touch with some woman in the ULL athletic department who took down my information, but she said they'd let me know if I have tickets by Thursday and it isn't very likely. Never mind that I have to make hotel reservations, get time off from work, etc., well before then.

Completely bush-league operation down there. The Committee screwed this one up big time. If they insist on letting small stadiums with no extra room like ULL host, they've got to send small fanbases there to play. If they're going to send Mississippi State on the road, it's GOT to be to a stadium big enough to hold our fans.

I agree. You can't send State, Ole Miss, Arkansas or South Carolina to stadiums that can't hold the fan base that will make the trip.

I'm not familiar with Lafayette but is there not a minor league team in Lafayette?

I kind of disagree

They earned the right to host. Even in our large stadium, it's not like we had room for a couple thousand Clemson fans for the Super Regional back in 2007. What should happen is that since it's an NCAA event, each school should get a guaranteed allotment. I'd say something like 150 tix for the team/coaches' families and then another 250 for fans/alumni. If a school can't live by those requirements, they shouldn't make a bid. But i certainly expect Clemson fans in 2007, and Mercer fans last year probably had a hard time finding guaranteed tickets.

Jolly17er and the Mrs. are headed down from Clinton, tickets or no tickets. If we don't get tickets, we all could just paint the town maroon at the local bars and watering holes.

Move it to the superdome

A tip of the cap to the Winn Dixie Classic! What was that like 92-94?

Several non-SEC host sites have small stadiums. Indiana, Ok State, Oregon State, Louisville, Cal Poly, and TCU all have parks similar in size to ULL.

Yep, but are any of them hosting someone who's going to bring a huge contingent? I doubt it. The Committee should have sent us to a larger ballpark.

Sure we could have. Unlike ULL, we have an outfield space where we can pack more and more fans into even after every seat is sold. In fact, the larger Clemson crowd was about 1800 fewer than the record crowd we set a few weeks ago, so we absolutely could have squeezed an extra 2000 fans into there.

I thought they were supposed to allot 500 tickets for each visiting school. That would go through the MSU Athletic Office.
