I came across this article by Whit Waide on bulldogblitz. I had Brian Shoup come in to give a speech for one of myclasses last semester, and left me amazed. This man should replace theDos Equisguy as the "Most Interesting Man in the World". The list of his accomplishments and stories are impressive in itself, but what Brian possesses as his most valuable trait has to be his communication ablility. His speaking ablity is unlike anything I've ever witnessed, and I'm sure he could probably sell a liquir store to a preacher. If anyone ever has a chance to listen to him, do it. It'll be worth your time.

in the CWS, not 1985. That win over Fullerton was significant because that was the first time that MSU had ever won a game in the CWS.

1985, we beat Oklahoma State in the now famous Thunder and Lightning vs Pete Incaviglia game and we also beat Arkansas.

Per my memory we smoked CSF 6-1 in the opening game thenlost two games by one run each. We went something like 19-2 that year (1979) in the SEC.

Fullerton was the only team to lose the opening gameand come back to win the title under the oldeight team, double elimination format.

So I am guessing he just got his teams mixed up? Regardless it didn't go down like the article said.

Still a good read though
