And by "haven't signed a HS QB", I mean they haven't signed a guy out of HS who went on to be their starting QB for a season.

In 2001, they signed Spurlock. Spurlock went on to be a QB for them. Every QB they've had since has been a free agent.

They keep talking up Macky, but they are pushing pretty hard to get a waiver so Brunetti can play next year. I'm not sure what to think about that, but I guess they do need two QBs that can play, especially if Stanley transfers.

Now, the "big announcement" could shake all of that up.

First, I'm not sold on Brunetti. Guy couldn't hack it at WVU so what makes anyone think he's going to be a hotshot SEC QB?

Second, why in the hell would the NCAA give him a waiver for next year? I see no outstanding circumstances that would convince them to let him play next year. He's going to be sitting at least one.

As fa as his ability, I have no idea. I liked him when we were recruiting him. Him not showing out his RS freshman year at WV really doesn't tell me anything. He may be a good fit for the Nutt running game system.
