Those of us that have a PS3 and have been underwhelmed with the selection of games compared to Xbox360 have to know...should I be impressed with PS4's hardware or should I accept that XB1 is going to have more games and go that way instead?

Just bought the new Call of Duty on XBOX360

last week so I'm committed to it for the next 3 months. However, I'd probably go PS4 for my next console purchase because I think paying for Xbox Live is communist, especially when you consider online play is free on Playstation.

Yes, PS4 is gonna charge money for online play - because xbox did it. 17 you Microsoft.

This the same thing Tivo has done to DVRs. There is no reason on earth consumers should have to pay for the privilege of recording. I already pay for the content. Why should I have to pay to record it? Because Tivo was the first DVR and they charged for people to record. So everybody else follows suit.

Anyway, I've done some reading and I've seen no reports of what the gaming outlook will be like on these machines. Microsoft sure kicked Sony's *** in exclusives and gaming availability on the PS3/XB360 generation.

Xb1 is going to be great because they are trying to integrate other media into their platform.

Yes... If I unstand things correctly, the XB1 will/can replace your cable or satilite box. I already hook my 3tb hdd up to my xbox360 and stream all the movies and tv shows ive downloaded through it. Its awesome. I hope the XB1 has that same feature. Itll be cool to have one box (plus my hard drive) on the mantel.

Me and the Mrs. will probably wait for XBox1 to work out all the bugs. I'm guessing by next summer, it will be fine. 360 was money well spent in our minds.

paying for online

i dont see how any of them can make you pay for online play. its not even on their servers, its all on the game makers servers. so the console company doesnt have anything invested in this so its none of their business. just a bunch of money hungry b!tches.

I'm going XBOX One. I really don't play a lot of console games, but I like how Xbox has positioned themselves as a do all media center. I got a toddler that will enjoy the dancing games on the Kinect. Plus it will have the HBOgo app and PS4 won't. I like the HDMI-in. This allows you to run your cable through the xbox software. I saw where you can set favorite channels so when you walk into a room, the Kinect recognizes you and brings up your custom TV guide.

Like someone already said, you are going to have to pay if you want to play online.

I have a PS3 and 360. Uncharted and MLB the Show are great game series. But other than those, I hardly touch the PS3. The EA games and nba2k were noticeably worse on PS3 so if I had a choice I always went 360.

Ill go Xbone for all reason listed below. I like the xbox first party selection more. Plus the ESPN3 app on Xbox is great. Also looks like there will be some interesting NFL integration going on with the Xbone. Also, since I already have Comcast, the HDMI in will be a no brainer.

Picked up my PS4 today. You have to pay a yearly sub to play online. No big deal for me, though. This was simply a business investment.

I know people aren't pleased with having to pay for online play on the PS4, but PS Plus does a good job of paying for itself in the long run. Free games, discounts on other games, early access to betas, etc. You get a lot more than just the chance to play online.

As for the consoles, I picked up my PS4 last night. Played Killzone with some friends way too late into the night. The new controller feels great, and the game looks beautiful in 1080 running at 60 FPS. As for the system itself, the UI is very sharpe and runs smoothly.

I don't get caught up in the console wars. Both systems are major upgrades. People should just look at the features and games that interest them the most when trying to decide. But so far I'm loving my PS4.

I have a 360 and I've always thought PS3's exclusives were way better. I've enjoyed my 360, but I feel like I've missed out on stuff like Uncharted, God of War, and the Last of Us. I can take or leave Halo and I got burnt out on Gears of War.

But as far as the new generation, I'm just gonna wait and see how things play out and wait for the slimmer versions with the bigger hard drives to release. Playstation seems more gamer driven, while Microsoft is focused on building a great all-around entertainment package.

I was so disappointed with the PS3 that I was plannig to make the jump to Xbox. All the bitching I've seen about Xbox1 is making me rethink it. The comparative reviews have all said if all you want is a gaming system then PS4's system has much more capability. I could give 2 ***** less about the social media aspects. Now I guess I'm just going to wait. If I even buy another system.

PS3 just burnt me out on the poor game selection. Plus now any type of shooter has no actual gameplay. It's all dedicated to multiplayer. Which I'm burnt out on that too.

From everything I've read, the third party guys haven't figured out how to maximize the ability of the new platforms, so you might as well wait 6 months for the price drop before you go next gen.

I haven't watched South Park in years, but I happened to catch that one earlier this week and it was pretty awesome. The combination of the fanboy wars and the GoT references was great.

I started watching again this year because they are limiting themselves to only 6 new episodes. I figured less may be more for that type of comedy. The Goth episode last week was good too.

right there with ya. Other than game selection, my biggest PS3 ***** was the damn thing insisted on a OS upgrade about every time I turned it on. That was a 20-30 minute process.

Often I just wanted to watch a damn Blu-ray Disc. Noooo...you've got to upgrade the 17ing OS first.

Playstations spends a shitload of money to keep that network up

Don't know why it should be free. Millions a month, tens of thousands of servers.

And boom goes the dynamite. Glad to see I'm not the only Halo fan out here....although I am losing my patients with the series after the **** that was known as Halo 4 multiplayer. I don't want to pay $60 just to play a campaign. No matter how kick *** it is
