How big will the PSU Settlement be... Reply
after the Freeh report is proven to be false? 10 Billion? The NCAA will no longer exist after everyone is done with them.

ok allyou legal minds, who has standing to sue the NCAA Reply
the players, the paternos, the season ticket holders. what other way can this ruling be challenged but through a class action lawsuit?
Id imagine that the season ticket holders would have a very good case against the ncaa

My letter to Erickson (yes, I know he'll never see it, but it makes.... Reply

...me feel a little better).

Dr. Erickson,

How could you willingly allow so much to be taken
away from so many once-proud Penn State alumni? I know you don't think
football should be a part of our identity, but the fact of the matter is
that football program WAS once a source of great pride to all of us.
100,000+ would make pilgrimages to State college for camaraderie,
remembrance, introducing our kids to the University, and cheering on our
football team.

My wife, who's not even a Penn State grad (she is a Virginia Tech
grad) bragged to he friends about how great Penn State was after her
first Penn State football game.

She too is a huge college football fan.

We look forward to the special times we have together on Saturdays in the fall.

I surprised her at, and proposed to her at a football game tailgate.

We
spent the entire Saturday afternoon of our Honeymoon watching college
football, loved every minute of it, and always talk about what a fun
time it was.

It's something so special to us.

And now, you took it away. It's gone.

No,
Jerry Sandusky didn't take it away. Mike McQueary didn't take it
away. Joe Paterno didn't take it away. The football team didn't take
it away. The NCAA didn't take it away.

YOU took it away.

YOU ruined Penn State football (yes, I know
that's what you wanted to do all along), and in the process, most
likely ruined Penn State University.

Thanks to you, Penn State will never receive another dime from me. My kids (If I decide to have any) will never step foot on that campus.

Thanks to you, I am removing Penn State from my resume.

The
actions (or inaction) of Graham Spanier, Gary Schultz, Tim Curley, and
Mike McQuery did a lot of harm to Penn State -- But YOU did much MORE
harm to Penn State.

This "scandal" was (is) a nightmare for all involved. And for the
sake of pushing blame away from the administration, you just prolonged
this nightmare for the rest of all of our lifetimes.

This is yet another sad sad day.

You, sir, are a pathetic piece of ****. May you rot in hell with Jerry Sandusky.

Sincerely,

******* ********

I'd hate to thinkI was one of those people who felt like an injustice was being done to Penn State.

My heart breaks today for multiple reasons, MOST OF WHICH.................. Reply

...the America I used to believe in is eroding.
As you well know, my multiple discussions with Tom McAndrew and Tuition Costs. I see an invetiable DEPRESSION on the horizon once the "world-wide credit bubble" bursts. I 100% believe that.
I used to look to academia for truth; people with the knowledge to stand up; Now, I am afraid, it was all a facade.
I see very little in life to encourage people to bring children into this world - very little. So much in life is simply a facade.
Today, that is why my heart bleeds and aches.
Joe Paterno was many things but a FAKE was not one of them. He really tried to do the right thing. He really did.
State College is still a "special" place to me. But, it will forever be different b/c it now represents to me "evils" in society:lack of due process; political agenda's; Emperors like Emmerit taking matters into their own hands; and, betrayal.
Sad day, my friend. A sad day indeed.

Evils of Emmerit? It was unanimous among the Executive Board... Made up of other university presidents. PSU's current prez accepted the penalties before they were even announced. And the former prez used to be on the Executive Board!

PSU is now the symbol of everything wrong with the world, this is the only thing I agree with, but mostly because of comments like these by their alum and fans. How can you be so blinded by your fan-hood?

We give each other a lot of **** on this board, but I'm glad we're not as ignorant as this bunch.

you would be highly dissappointed if something like this occured in Starkville.

If one of our football assistants was raping little boys in the showers, and the Head Coach condoned and hid it, I would hope MState got harsh penalties.

I really hope so, and I agree with you regarding how I would feel.

I guess I would worry that there would be a vocal majority of idiots that would speak out. No matter what they say at PSU, they don't care about what happend. All they care about is that in their opinion their beloved school and deity are being slandered.I would hope that these foolson their message boards I read are their equals to Swan Lake. Every school has them, I guess it's just to what degree.

now looks at PSU differently because of a lack of due process and political agendas rather than rape of children?
