Yeah, they seem to be in disarray. If they still had Endine, just send Arnold out at 84, not much harm given Angelo's propensity to score points.

If Angelo ever gets a sore knee and is forced to stay standing, he might score more points.

My older brother used to get water on the knee semi frequently from wrestling and needed to have it drained. That seemed to be a thing years ago, but I don't hear about it anymore. A bit gross, the fluid would pretty much slosh around in there like a water balloon. Trust me, when it was drained it wasn't just water, yuck.
I think the issue with Endene was that he wasn't anywhere close to ready to come back in his mind (and in consultation with his doctors) and was considering shutting it down and applying for a medical for this season, and Tom and Slumlord Millionaire disagreed that that was what they paid for. If that's the case, then he wouldn't have been an option for this weekend anyway.

But I certainly don't disagree with your general statement that they seem to be in disarray. LOL.

Taking the last syringe of fluid out always felt like my knee was being turned inside out!

This is interesting, I was just reading through this thread and catching up on the comments here.

So I’m a teacher and showed the match today to that point and paused it, and asked the kids what their perceptions were. I explained a bit about the two wrestlers and their history, and then we talked about the mindset of someone like MM and how that can be applied in the classroom and life. After that I showed the last ten seconds and the takedown to an MD and asked the same questions.

I commented on Youtube too, my guess is that MM will be the next head coach at Penn State for the same reasons. I have no idea how good he is with certain managerial things, but his mind is the best I’ve ever seen.
This was good stuff!

Did MC he close the gap over those few days?

I’m sure this is a big reason why he’s Askren’s star pupil, and Cael’s. They both take a very cerebral approach to preparation and technique and practice and weight management and everything else about modern wrestling.

It’s really ironic and a shame that his only college loss is going to end up being due to a brain fart.

With several of our current wrestlers and recruits coming out of Askren Wrestling Academy [Mitchell, whose father is an instructor there, Connor and Cole], and Khaled Dassan's KD Training Center [PJ, Rocco, Jayden James and Will Soto], Penn State is in great shape to have a foot in the door (like they needed one) to land future stud recruits who train at either club.

I used to hate watching Marinelli’s weird wife stomp around by the Iowanker bench like some sort of butch-lesbo drill sergeant. Move on, hag
I mistakenly walked into one of their bars and looked around and liked the odds of my getting lucky once, once.

Iowa has slipped a little. The major difficulty they face, as do all other wrestling programs, is that Penn State has found a secret sauce that has elevated them to unheard of heights. Another problem is that Iowa has cut back on recruiting and developing their type of recruit and instead is chasing shiny objects in the portal. One element to Cael's secret sauce is finding good (usually outstanding) wrestlers who buy into the culture Cael & company have created. It's why not getting Basset was not deeply lamented. That's not a knock on Basset's character. Different strokes and all. But it is definitely why the speculation of any Ferrari becoming a Lion was absurd.

Angelo is apparently out for Friday's match against Nebraska, which might end up costing them the match, so if they're faking an injury to make excuses, they are really taking it to an extreme. LOL.
It might cost them the match. Iowa probably thinks Arnold is a toss-up with Allred, and they'd be right about that. They've split 2 matches, a 1-pt regulation match and an OT match.

Great clubs rotate. Cael and co appear to be able to deal the best with this. Whereas others don’t and once that pipeline runs dry, don’t seem to be in the know or personable enough to be aligned with next top producing club.

just being in the NE or Pa helps with this I presume.

Iowa as you noted, obviously doesn't really compete with Penn State anymore. Again as you noted, the reliance on imports has retarded their recruitment and development efforts. The portal has gotten them a champ (Buchanan) and 3 runner-ups (Eierman, Woods and Caliendo) and they have developed only a single champion (Spencer)and 2 runner-ups (Ayala and Warner).
Their style isn't even the TnT Iowa style anymore. They don't drive forward, hand fighting and looking to beat people into submission. They have 2 kids that drop to a knee often, and the rest tie-up hands with finger ties. Both techniques have nearly zero offensive potential and are used to slow things down and eat clock from a position of safety.
The TnT boys aren't really recruiting, they are using Nicolls money to try and buy talented kids into the idea of coming to Iowa. The problem they have now is they have almost zero wrestling development incentive to sell kids. Kids who truly dream of becoming great look at PSU, OkieSt and OhioSt and the kids who have talent and decide they can't cut it in those 3 rooms they are the ones looking at taking Nicolls money. The problem gets worse for the Hawks at this point, the Hawk style lacks imagination and appears funless. So, the kids who could help the Hawks are the kids are deciding between going to Iowa for the money or VaTech, NCST, Nebraska and other programs to learn to wrestle.

Who knows, maybe the group Iowa has coming in might develop and lift Iowa to heights they have rarely been able to achieve, second place behind another championship PSU team. I have serious doubts. Iowa is close to becoming that group of tough, well conditioned kids who as a team finish 5th to 8th and occasionally with the right portal senior(s) can get a team trophy.

Sorry, very wordy. Apparently making fun of Iowa through a basic and elementary analysis was too much fun and I couldn't stop.

Iowa should get a reprive from their deep depression, tomorrow. I expect them handle Nebraska in an entertaining bout, granted no Angelo doesn't help matters. Come on man, tape up that toe/foot/ankle/leg, whatever. Is he exaggerating the extent of that bobo to cast shade on his loss to Rocco? If Iowa loses again, I can't say I won't be smiling though.

Latest Flo Silliness from the Midwest Mafia - namely Rader

Seriously giving Marinelli a chance against Mesenbrink in a dual.

If dealing in fruitless fantasy of putting together an all time Hawk team that may be competitive with this year's PSU team, forget Marinelli. Marinelli wouldn't be good enough to make the starting lineup on this year's Hawk team. Go back to the 80s and bring Alger out of retirement. Royce could probably wrestle Mitchell without getting bonused every time.

He’s not better than that. Radar is just that Radar.

Kozak is good. Pyles has it in him to be good at times but the nerd always shines through. Radar is just the guy they keep around to make themselves look better.

I’d have a better chance at making it through an episode with the creeper on there than Radar.

Losing Askren was a killer for that crew. He would have clowned Radar for that, justifiably so.

I have a feeling we’ll be Stilly-boyed to death soon as Flo loves content creators they can work off of. Only thing that will save us is if Ok State plateaus below us like the Buckeyes did, but I think they’ll challenge us. Then it’s Cael’s news lockdown approach vs the thirstyness of the Stilly Boys

Watching the Iowa vs Nebraska dual. Iowa is actually doing something. Bailey lost again. He played the edge of the mat the whole match. Brock Hardy’s wife was getting a lot of camera time.

Lamer from Nebraska blew it. He turned into a takedown the wrong way and got pinned.

Williams wrestled Taylor just like he did against PJ. He backed off the mat on his knees in SV and got dinged for stalling. What a dumb way to lose a match.

Arnold going at 184. You have to give the guy credit for being willing to go at whatever weight Brands tells him to.

Amazing. Ferrari showed some genuine sportsmanship towards Keuter after they wrestled.

They really need a good personality on there. I know those guys read this so PLEASE drop some money. Uncle Chael, if you’re taking a swing but I bet Cliff Fretwell would do that **** for free. Mike Mal was an underrated guy who I don’t think even got a shot to do it while at Flo.
