Mendez being a bit of a punk after the match. Pushing down on Davis and seeing if he could get him to react. Mendez is an absolutely incredible wrestler but I’ve never really liked him
Right with you. He has earned all of his tough victories and is a beast but I could do without his arrogance. He needs a slice of humble pie.
At least his goal of beating PSU in a duel is toast.

Penn State leads Ohio State 17-5 at the break. The Nittany Lions got a sudden victory win from No. 1 Luke Lilledahl, 4-1, at 125 pounds over No. 2 Nic Bouzakis via a sudden victory takedown. After Ohio State's Jesse Mendez beat Braeden Davis by technical fall at 141 pounds, Shayne Van Ness tech'd OSU backup Brogan Fielding 20-5 at 149 before PJ Duke pinned Daxton Chase in 3:28 at 157.

I guess we can stop the Beau Bartlett - PJ Duke comparisons for a night....speaking of him while I know we didn't love his style or how he exited the program, watching Mendez ragdoll Scooter gives a greater appreciation for the wrestling of BB. Might not be a lot of our favorite styles, but does prove that different styles can put a wrestler in an elite category. Love Desmond's heart and potential, but given where he is specifically being underweight, I don't think he fares any better tonight.

Why on earth does this kid have "1969" tatted on his thigh? Reminds me of a bag of spare parts observed with who had "established 1991" across his chest in big block letters.😂
probably his mom or dads birth year. I know of some people who have done that

May not see davino, blaze again this year. Bunch of studs in that weight class.
If Byrd is the #1 seed we probably do . I say Blaze should get the #1 seed at bigs after that win with his strength of schedule. Blaze Byrd Davino Fugitt Ayala or Ayala Fugitt which doesn't matter with the 4/5

A great performance by PSU for the first five matches. Unfortunately, it also takes a lot of the excitement out of the second five. This dual isn’t anything like the one in 2018.

Being able to execute that plan though is extremely impressive.
Realistically, once the riding time clock flipped, Blaze had to go for broke. Not enough time left for an escape and a takedown. Davino could have run around in circles, taken a stall, and ran time out.

Excellent clock awareness by Blaze. Im not sure if Blaze was counting in his head or peeked at the clock. It didnt look like Davino was expecting it. Probably thought Blaze would take the escape.
